The room went quiet after Tsu's claims. It was true. They wouldn't be much different from the villains they started hating after attacking them on every possible time. The laws were made for a reason, and with that reasonning was the way to label one as villain or hero, based on one's action, though there is a flaw in the law.
For Ochako, at least. That's how she viewed the laws. Not something to exactly dwell on now that they have a kidnapping situation to look after.
And to think they're imposing on Tsuna's mother when they failed to protect her only biological son. Jeez, what kind of people are they to have no shame?
"I want to save them, too," she offered her own thoughts on the matter. "But we can't. It's not on our authority. It's not in our hands. We just..." she sighed. "We just can't."
"I really hope you're not just saying that because you have a grudge on him," suddenly came from nowhere that Ochako didn't register who exactly it was that spoke those words. Those words that felt like a whiplash to her.
"W-what?" she slowly said, lips to heavy to move, feeling like lead.
"When you lost against Bakugo during the sports fest?"
There was a defeanning silence that followed after that. So silent, that even breaths and gasps at that particular statement wasn't heard.
Ochako couldn't believe they thought she'd wish of someone's ruin just because she lost to him in a silly game of sports. Ok, maybe the sports festival was more of a big deal than she wanted to give it credit to, but she was purposefully downgrading it to get her point across.
She, for all the money she was in for the hero industry, would never wish for someone's saftey to be jeopardized just so she could get even.
How could they say that to her? She was stopping them because she had their wellbeing in her mind. How could they come to the conclusion that she didn't want them to go because she lost to Bakugo? Is that how they see her refusals? That she... That she... That she's the kind of person who would hold a grudge for some petty reason such as sportsmanship? That she's someone who couldn't hold herself up after losing a fight?
Then what of Iida? Of Tokoyami? Of Aoyama? Then what of Tsuyu who was being the voice of reason and rationality? What of Reborn who was... Well, not that Reborn can do anything, since he's stuck babysitting them after extending Namimori's entire protection policy to them.
"We both fought hard." It would be the first time Ochako had admitted that, up until that point. Bakugo had fought hard in their match, and maybe she hadn't seen it because of her own desperation to win. She didn't have a lot of sympathy for him, but the truth was that he was the best because he was constantly working. When she put in extra hours at the training facility, he was often there, beating a punching bag like his life depended on it. At the time, the sight had irritated her. The jealous voice in the back of her head asked why he worked so hard, when he was already so far ahead. She worked harder because of it, even go as far as ask Hibari for a daily sparring session (which he thankfully indulged her in; he's truly a formidable close combat opponent), that had given her the reputation of suicidal and reckless in Namimori, most especially among Hibari's herd of disciplinarians.
