„Chan?", The younger Austrian asked while looking at Jisung. They stood in front of the hotel room of their leader in Japan.
Tomorrow night the 7th Asian Artist Awards would be held. The group had flown with a few other groups to Japan early in the morning.
„The door is open."
The young artist pushed the door open, and both entered the large room. He was working. Laptop resting on the desk next to a blush chair, occupied by their beloved leader.
„We need to talk." Jisung pushed the door closed and sat with Felix on the foot of their leader's bed.
The eldest members looked up, confused and concerned, searching for emotions and answer on their face.„Did something happen?" Chan asked, closing the laptop a bit. „Everyone alright? Did I miss something?" He got nervous as he watched them exchange looks.
„The members are all fine. Us included." Felix began. „But we here because of you, Chan."
His brows furrowed. Deeply. „Me? I'm fine as well." Chan opened the device back up to continue working on files.
In the back of his mind, he knew what the two wanted to talk about with him but he pushed that topic to the last corner these days.„You seem fine. We won't argue with you on that point but we noticed you have been sleeping less again." Jisung looked at the black-haired Felix next to him.
„Eating less, working more," Felix added. „Chan, that is not healthy nor normal."
„You have that conversation with us with every comeback so don't talk yourself out of it now." Jisung backed up Felix's words. „But we believe your behaviour has different reasons than just the upcoming award shows."
Chan looked up. There was no point in arguing. Living together and knowing each other that long, they just knew when something was wrong.
He sighed defeated and closed the laptop completely.„Go on." Chan slumped into the blush chair, rubbing his face.
„Danbi."
The name made his heart stop for a second before it started to beat twice as fast.
He adored the girl it belonged to. In many ways for many things and if he was honest with himself more than a friend.
But he was no stranger to the promise she made to herself years ago. To not date any idol, or any friend of her brother. And he respected it.„You like her." Felix bluntly said, watching his reaction. His shoulders dropped even more. Chan shifted resting his arms on his legs, his hands running through his hair.
"She is a beautiful person. We all like her." He tried to talk himself out of this overdue conversation. Jisung shook his head.
"You like her differently, Chan. Stop denying it. It isn't the first time we've seen you falling for someone." He reminded the older.
"And? Danbi was clear in the very beginning about the whole dating Idol topic. We all saw how the possibility of a scandal pushed her away." Chan stood up. He needed to move. "And how she is still very cautious now with any of us."
His voice grew louder. Chan was frustrated. "And I respect that."
Felix stood up as well, eyes following the leader walking up and down. Not one of them liked when he was like this.
"But you are hurting." Jisungs words made their leader stop and look up.
Sometimes if words stay unspoken, it's easier to deny them and deny the feelings behind them.
Once they are spoken out loud, the reality hits like a train and there is no running from.Chan felt like that. Run over more than once with the emotion he had hidden deeply. Buried under non-stop work, telling himself in the quiet moments when the thoughts got louder that he didn't have a glimpse of a chance with the younger female.
Chan had hopelessly fallen for her.
"I can live with it, Jisung. I promised myself that I would never see that look and horror on her face because of me as we did in and after the meeting."
