"Let's break up."
Her voice echoed. I couldn't process what she said.
Those are the words I don't want to hear from Jayde; I didn't expect her to say those words.
"What?" I asks like a dumb.
She sat there on her couch with her head down.
"I said let's break up. Do you want me to translate it in tagalog for you to understand it better?"
This person in front of me is different from the Jayde I know. She's not Jayde.
"W-what...h-happened to you?" My voice quivered. "This is not you, baby." Halos mangiyak ngiyak kong sabi.
She sigh heavily and stand up. Her hands were inside her pockets.
"Nothing happened to me," she replied simply.
"Don't you understand, Reeve? I want a break up. Let's break up. Marahas niyang sabi.
Agad ko siyang sinampal na ikinagulat niya.
"WHAT THE FUCK JAYDE? YOU SAID YOU WANT A BREAK UP AND YOU WOULDN'T LET ME KNOW WHAT ARE YOUR REASONS?" umiiyak kong tanong.
"Let's break up... ayokona, Reeve." Halos pabulong niyang sabi.
"YOU SAID YOU'RE GOING TO MARRY ME! YOU SAID IN TEN YEARS YOU'LL PROPOSE AGAIN! YOU SAID YOU WON'T LEFT ME." I cried so hard, I couldn't see her reaction because my eyes were blurry.
"You should go home, Reeve," tanging sabi lang niya.
Huwag mo namang gawin sa akin 'to, please. Baby please, let's talk. What happened? What did I do? What do you want me to do?"
Jayde is gritting her teeth while punching the table. Her eyes were watering.
"You should go home." Bulong niya.
She looked at me expressionless, like I'm just a stranger visiting her house.
Niyugyog ko siya.
"What the fuck happened to you? Break up, really, Jayde?"
"Yeah, break up. I want a break up." She looked at me. "I'm letting you go, so please let me go also." She almost begged.
I thought we're going to reach our dreams together?"
