I smiled as we pulled up at the Hollywood sign. Getting out of the car I dragged him with me. "You are going to love the view!" I said as I stepped over the rock and a gust of wind blew by me. I opened my hands as I felt the wind take me with it. "AAHHHHH!" I shouted as loudly as I could. It felt really good. I finally opened my eyes to see Asher's green ones staring at me with an unknown emotion in them.
"So welcome to my special place," I said getting down and twirling around in my place. He looked at the Hollywood sign and then my face. "You are kidding, right? There are like thousands of tourists who come here and so do people who live in LA," he said. I glared at him. Smartypants had to open his mouth.
"You know what then go back!" I said sitting down on the rock and pulling my knees to my chest. I heard a deep sigh and he came and stood in front of me. I closed my eyes. I felt him sitting beside me. I opened my eyes and smiled at him. "So why do you swear so much?" I asked. "Going directly to the point, Wilder?" He asked. I sheepishly nodded.
"Why were you so mad at Derek and Christian that day?" he asked in return. "Okay buddy that is too personal," I said putting my legs down. "So you feel safe here?" he asked. I nodded. "You know it's not? People can kidnap you from here and you can't even fu*king call for help!" he said. "You know what you can leave!" I snapped at him. I opened my backpack and showed him the taser and pepper spray. His eyes widened.
"Why the fu*k would you carry that in your backpack?" he asked. "Safety purposes," I answered vaguely. "So why am I here?" he asked. "So that I can help you control your anger," I said. His hands balled up in a fist. "I asked you to let that go!" He said his voice very high and angry. "Wow, one sentence without cursing!" I said with fake astonishment.
"I have a solution for my anger," he said. I looked at him as he removed something from his jeans pocket. And as soon as I saw the packet I snatched it and threw it down the hill. "Are you mad?" I asked. "Great you will fu*king lecture me about the cigarette and then you would want to be the girl that would want to help the bad boy. You all are the fu*king same. Why don't you understand I don't fu*king need your help!" he shouted.
I looked at him as he let out his pent-up emotions. I slowly walked towards him and placed my hands on either side of his face. "Asher," I whispered. "I am not some girl who wants to hook up with you and do it with you. I don't want to change you. What kind of a friend would I be If I would want to change you? But I know that this is not the real you and I want to bring back the real you. The one that you have left behind. And I will not only be with you throughout the journey but will wait for you until it ends," I said softly.
We both just stood there staring into each other's eyes till I felt his hands go around my waist and pull me into his chest. I smiled as I felt the scent of Vanilla and some forest wood hit me. "You have to give me a new way of controlling my anger if you are throwing away mine," he said. I smiled as an idea struck me. I removed one of the thin black hair ties from my hand and placed it on his wrist.
