I woke up to someone shaking me. "Kiara, shhh, Kiara your mom's calling!" said a voice. I opened my eyes and attempted to move but my bottom half was trapped. I looked down to see Asher still laying on me. I looked up to see Christian holding my phone.
I grabbed it from his hand and answered it. "Yes, Mom?" I asked rubbing my eyes. "Honey, where are you? Are you still at their house?" she asked worry had laced her voice. "Yes Mom, after we baked we were so tired that I fell asleep on the sofa," I lied through my teeth. I felt really bad. This wasn't me but I had no other option. I, myself had no answers to why and how he was like this.
"Honey, it's raining like cats and dogs outside thundering even," Mom said. I looked out the window and she was so right! How did I sleep through this? I mean Asher is on medication the doctors gave him an injection. But I was a light sleeper. "Ohh You want me to come home immediately?" I asked. "Don't be stupid Kiara it's hazardous to drive in this weather! Can you stay there for a night? I would like to talk to his mom!" she said.
"His mom?" I asked panicked. I looked at Christian for help but even his eyes widened. "Umm, can I like... call you back? I have to pee and then I will ask his mom to talk to you?" I said but it sounded more like a question. "Impossible! Go!" she said before hanging up.
KY - Mom doesn't know that there are only three boys and you, right? 😂😂
I rolled my eyes.
Me - Tell her anything and I will tell Mom about you failing the test in class!
KY - Bully!
"Do you have someone who can help?!" I asked. "Yeah! Our caretaker! Come let's go!" He rushed out of the room. And twenty seconds later he came back. "Yeah.. right. We need to take this gorilla off you!" he said. "Yeah!" I said.
We both got Asher safely onto the bed. I placed the covers on him and switched out the remaining lights before walking out. We both rushed downstairs and saw a woman cooking something in front of the stove. "Mrs Becker we need your help!" Christian said. The woman turned around and I got a full look at her face.
She looked like she was in her forties. She had black hair with grey strands here and there. She was shorter than me! She was wearing a skirt and shirt which were covered by the apron. "Christian I will not help you hide from the police again!" she snapped. Did I turn to Christian WHAT? "No Mrs Becker that's not what I want this time maybe later but not now! Now I want you to pretend to be my mom and tell Her mom that it is safe to stay for the night here since there is a storm outside!" Christian said.
I lost track of the conversation. The lady looked at me and she pulled me in a hug. "Oh My Gosh! Blake was telling me a few minutes ago how you helped save Asher's life! Thank you so much Honey!" she said squeezing the life out of me.
"You're welcome!" I replied. She finally let go of me. "So would you talk to my mom?" I asked. She nodded. I happily dialed my mom's number and put it on speaker.
