Jaune Arc - Dreamscape

Chapter 4

Jaune was gone from his seat as he headed to the lockers to change. Ruby looked at her partner and said, "Come on, Weiss, cheer up. Jaune told me he was going to beat up Neptune for you."

Still irate, Weiss was a bit snappy, "Seriously? Arc? What's he going do?" however, she stopped herself. She was on better terms with the guy ever since he stopped asking her out. She shouldn't be transferring her irritation to someone that just wanted to help.

Weiss calmed herself and said, "I appreciate the thought, but he shouldn't have to do that. And I know how worried you get when you see Jaune getting beaten during Combat Class."

Ruby did a thinking pose and said, "True, but Mr. I don't know where he is getting his confidence was confident about this match. And I don't mean that weird fake confidence he shows when he asks you out. This time, it was genuine confidence. I don't know; I feel like he will surprise everyone."

Weiss sighed, then she thought, 'First helped me get with Neptune since he thought it would make me happy. Now, he is planning to fight Neptune because of me again. Why on Remnant did I ever pick Neptune over him? Jaune was not the best fighter, but he improved faster than me when I had private trainers. It goes to show that he has great potential. The only thing Neptune has going was his good....'

Weiss could not have completed her words as she saw Jaune enter the Combat class in his new armor set. Looking at Jaune, Weiss thought, 'Oh, my! I guess Neptune only has a single edge over Jaune now.'

Seeing Jaune move, Weiss felt a sense of power from him. It wasn't something he had before. She thought, 'What is happening? Jaune feels like he is a War God!'

Ruby stood up from her seat and shouted, "Woohoo! Kick his ass, Jaune! Show no mercy for my Bestie!"

It was not only Weiss that was shocked. She shouted, "Damn, is that Vomit Boy? When did he get a new armor? It looks badass! His old one looks like it was taken from the scrapyard."

Blake stared at Jaune. She thought, 'This is new. The way he walks and handles himself, he doesn't look like someone that has been training for only a semester.'

Besides RWBY, Nora, Pyrrha, and Ren are the most shocked. They live with the guy in the same room and spend most of their time together. They thought, 'When did he get the time to buy that? How come he never told me!'

Except for his armor, Jaune had nothing on him. Why? Because he didn't want to use any weapons as he wanted to beat Neptune with his barehand.

As Neptune arrived in the arena, he waved at the girls and flirted with them, "Hello, ladies." This action of his only made Jaune's blood boil.

Neptune looked at Jaune and said, "Look, Jaune. Thank you for helping me during the dance. So, I'll hold back a bit. Thought I'll help you out a bit."

Jaune sneered at him, saying, "I don't need you to hold back. But Goodluck, because you're going to need it."

Like the others, Glynda was surprised at Jaune, which caused her to smile, but only for a picosecond. When both participants were ready, she said, "Let's begin the match."

Before attacking Jaune, Neptune winked at all the girls in the observation seat. He switched his Tri-Hard to its trident form and charged toward Jaune. However, to Jaune, he was too slow. Jaune turned his body as he side-stepped to avoid the tip of Tri-Hard. As Neptune was passing by, Jaune kneed the man in the face so hard that he hit the arena ceiling and halved his Aura. This was him holding back.

Jaune shook his body and thought, 'Hmm... I need to hold back a bit more.'

As Neptune fell from the ceiling, his Aura was only 40%.

This, however, did not matter to Jaune. As Neptune stood, a fist hit him on the right side of his face, then his left; it was repeated then after. No one can tell how many times Jaune has punched Neptune as he was moving too fast.

Ruby, who was watching in the stand, was shocked at what she witnessed. She thought, 'Is this her dorky Jaune? Since when did he get so strong? And his armor, where did he get it? I can't even tell what it's made of!'

Weiss, her heart skipped a beat when she remembered he was doing this for her. She thought, 'I thought I was good at discerning people. How could I have chosen Neptune over Jaune? Is it because I was angry at Ruby when she became leader, I sent most of my anger toward him subconsciously?'

As for Blake, she watched Jaune with horny eyes. She thought, 'It's like in chapter thirty-two of Ninjas of Love when Yuuya wailed on that scum Saji when he found out he was sexually harassing Kaori.'

Back in the arena with Jaune, Neptune said, "M-Mercy! I forfeit!" But Jaune approached him and picked him up by the collar.

With a sneer, Jaune whispered in his ears, "I don't ever want you coming near Weiss again. Do you understand?"

Even though Neptune was in pain, he nodded and said, "Yeesh..."

Jaune dropped Neptune on the ground, and Glynda announced, "And that's the match. Mr. Arc, you gave us all quite a surprise today."

Jaune didn't say anything and merely smiled at her.

As Jaune stepped down from the arena, Glynda asked, "Now, do I have any volunteers?"

No one raised their hands. Today was fight till you can't. That means they would be fighting that man. There was a collective thought, 'Hell no!'

Glynda was irritated. This was supposed to be the next generation of protectors, and they're afraid to volunteer? If they aren't going to volunteer, then. Glynda said, "If there are no volunteers, I'll pick one."

Everyone was scared. Glynda called one of the students, but he refused to come down. Even when Glynda used her semblance to bring him down, he merely grabbed onto something for dear life.

Glynda was getting pissed. She shouted, "Fine!" She then looked at Jaune. And said, "You can go and change, then head back to your seat. I'll pick two new participants for the match."

Jaune nodded at Glynda and headed to the lockers, but not before waving to his friends. They had a single thought, 'Still our dorky Jaune.'

Later, after Combat Class, RWBY and NPR surrounded Jaune.

Ruby pulled Jaune's arms and said, "Jaune! Why didn't you tell me you had such cool armor? What is it made of?"

Nora was the next person to pull on Jaune's other arm. She said, "When did you go and get a new armor? We are together every day! When did you have time to head to Vale and buy one?"

Jaune made up some lie about it being his semblance. He didn't know how to explain the Dreamscape to his friends. Heck! Maybe it is his semblance, and that's why he could not use Aura in that place since it is siphoning it. He didn't know. He had too little information.

When Jaune went to bed later in the evening, he arrived again in the Dreamscape. Something was different about the place. The lesser Zombies were lessened. However, the Agile Zombie and above have increased. As he was looking around, Jaune heard a roar in the distance. He looked up, and it was a Zombie that was leagues beyond a Zombie Emperor...No! This thing was beyond the Zombie Overlord!

Using his Analyse, he was deathly afraid of what he saw.

Luckily for Jaune, the Zombie was not interested in him. It left the area and headed deep into the woods up north. The freaking Zombie can fly!

However, although the Zombie Overlord III has left, the earlier roar caused the Zombie to hear it power up.

Jaune sighed and said, "Oh, come on! Why did you have to empower the Zombie before leaving?".

Jaune had to step back to his right as an Agile Zombie nearly took his head off. Although the situation was unexpected, Jaune thought, 'Well, I guess this will push me to get stronger.'

Jaune brandished his spear and took out as much Zombie as he could.
