Chapter 37

As the Loki Familia returned home, Hephaestus and Tsubaki sat in the living room with Jaune and Hestia.

Jaune asked, "What brings you here today, Hepha?"

Hephaestus cleared her throat to hide her blush. She was not used to Jaune using her nickname. She said, "I came here to ask you for a commission like that Riveria girl in the Loki Familia. I want to commission a set of armor and weapon for Tsubaki. I will also be paying for the materials used since I did not procure any of my own for obvious reasons and because you seem to have materials I have never heard of before."

Jaune said, "I can do that, but can't you make armor and weapon for her yourself?"

With a shake of her head, Hephaestus said, "Without using my Divinity and materials from Heaven, I can admit that you are better than I am. Thus, here I am. I'm willing to pay upfront for this commission."

Jaune shook his head and said, "I'll accept the commission, but I don't want your money. As thanks for teaching me everything about forging and other things like tailoring, I'll gladly do this for free."

Hephaestus said, "I can't have you doing that. I'll..."

Jaune stopped her and said, "If you treat me as a friend, then don't ever mention money to me."

Hephaestus sighed. She knew she would not be able to change Jaune's mind.

Jaune added, "By the way, why are you still wearing your eye patch?"

Hephaestus said, "I'm not someone that likes attention. If I were to be seen without them, people would flock around me and ask many questions. And, as you know, my beauty was the cause of my curse; I don't want a repeat of that event."

Jaune understood. Though, there was anger welling inside of him. He thought, 'She is such a wonderful and kind Goddess. If I ever find out the one that caused her harm, they better watch out as I have analyzed and can recreate the same curse. I shall let them have a test of their own medicine.'

Jaune asked, "What kind are we talking about for the weapon? A sword, a spear? Or maybe a staff?"

Tsubaki replied, "I mostly use a naginata and a katana. Either one of those would do."

Jaunt thought momentarily and said, "I got it. I'll be able to get them ready by tomorrow."

Tsubaki was shocked that he only needed a short amount of time. But then again, this guy could make weapons, armor, and other equipment on par with Hephaestus-sama after only learning from her for a month.

Jaune said, "As for the armor, I'll have to take your measurements."

Tsubaki stood up, and Jaune did his job. He was very professional about it. They would have taken this chance to do something unprofessional if it were any other man.

With that done, Hephaestus asked Jaune, "Are you planning to attend the Monsterphilia? I heard that the Ganesha Familia will be putting on a performance taming monsters."

Jaune replied, "That sounds fun. Hey, isn't there also the Banquet of the Gods? I remember Hestia mentioning it once. Though, she said she was not interested in going. However, we plan to make her go since she barely leaves the house unless I go with her."

Hephaestus sighed, saying, "Sorry about her. I know she's quite a handful at times."

Jaune said, "What? No, she isn't. She helps out in the house every day. When I cook, she is there helping. When I cleaned, she would be there also. She even wanted to go out and work, thinking she was a useless Goddess because she hadn't done anything for us besides update our status."
