Chapter 31

Evening came, and Jaune planned to head to the dungeon to test his new skills. He was excited about it.

Jaune thought, 'Thankfully, the skills drawback is negated when copied through the [Blank Cards]. Otherwise, I would not even think of copying such a skill if it means losing myself to it and being unable to level up and evolve.'

He added, 'But, this should be exciting...Ah! I forgot to ask Hestia to update my status last night since I was dead tired from nearly dying in the Beast of the Rift tentacles. I should do that later when I get back. It is annoying to have stat points that are not active.'

With that, Jaune teleported to the 30th floor. Looking at the surroundings, it was still the same as he left it. Absolute Devastation. Maybe he went a bit overboard using the [Heavenly Accumulated Strike], but then again, the voice told him to use that move.

When Jaune was about to move from the 30th floor, he heard footsteps. Following the sounds, he saw the group from last night. He made eye contact with the three women that garnered interest in him.

Tiona shouted, "Aha! See, Bete! I told you he was strong!"

Bete clicked his tongue, saying, "Tsk! He is still..." He did not finish what he was saying. He had enough of what happened the night before. He couldn't even have a wink of sleep since nature would attack him. Weeds would burst through his tent and strangle him, for God's sake! This was on the safe floor.

Tiona approached Jaune without reserve and got into his personal space. She said, "Hey! Do you want to have a spar with me? Ever since I saw a glimpse of you, I've been excited to have a go at you."

Jaune shrugged his shoulder. He wanted to go and kill some monsters for their stats, but having a spar should help him push his [True War Arts] to the limit with only 10 points on each stat. He said, "Sure, why not?"

Tiona said, "Great! This is perfect since we are in such an open area."

Jaune and Tiona got into position and got ready to start. The other members of their leading group sighed at Tiona. They could do nothing to stop this now since she had made up her mind.

Bete was looking at Jaune; he felt that something was amiss. He remembered something, saying, "Huh! I thought you were a Renard! I was sure you had Fox ears!"

Jaune looked at him, saying, "How do you know that? Are you stalking me?"

Bete shouted, "What! You little shit...Tsk! I'm not stalking you! I merely saw you in the guild when you applied. I was sure back then that you had Fox ears. The question is, why don't you have that feature now?"

Jaune raised an eyebrow, saying, "That's because I'm human. That form is merely me using magic called [Beast Takeover]. Now, can you shut up and let me concentrate? I'm quite excited for this spar since this would be my first time fighting someone here."

Bete clicked his tongue and moved away.

Tiona asked Jaune, "Are you not going to use any weapons?"

Jaune raised his fist, saying, "This is all I need to beat you."

Tiona smiled. She likes Jaune's guts. He was planning to fight her, a wielder of a double-sided sword, with nothing but his fist, and he was confident at beating her.

Tiona charged at Jaune and swung her blade at him with incredible speed and precision. However, with Jaune's [True War Arts], he can predict where she would strike by reading her muscle movement.

Jaune, right now, only has 10 points of stats each. He knew he could not beat her in a straight fight. As a result, he planned to whittle down her stamina. Tire her out as she swings her weapon.
