Soobin wakes up to find Yeonjun still lying on the bed beside. Seeming to not have moved around an inch.
Squinting from sleep, Soobin sits up, his hair tousled in every direction. The room is dark, with only the faint glow of a yellow streetlamp seeping through the window, casting silhouettes of the furniture.
Soobin lets out a deep sigh, his gaze fixed on the light. The silhouette of the large tree, the one Yeonjun would occasionally climb to enter his room when his father didn't want visitors, is also visible.
Guess I don't have that problem now.
Soobin shifts his gaze to Yeonjun now. His new problem.
"I don't know what to do, Yeonjun," Soobin whispers, careful not to disturb the boy. He reaches out to gently stroke Yeonjun's raven hair.
"I love you," he says again, leaning down to kiss Yeonjun's head. That's when he catches a whiff of something unpleasant. Soobin involuntarily sniffs harshly, jerking his head back.
He leans forward to get a closer look at Yeonjun's face.
There is vomit on the side of the bed, dried at the corner of the boy's mouth.
"Yeonjun!" Soobin shrieks in alarm, his panic intensifying as Yeonjun remains unresponsive to his outburst.
He quickly climbs over the boy, shaking him with increasing force until Yeonjun's brows furrow and a groan escapes him.
"Get up. Get up," Soobin urges, moving over Yeonjun. As soon as his feet touch the cold wooden floor, he lunges forward, using all his strength to wrap his arms around Yeonjun, pulling him off the bed.
Yeonjun's eyes flutter open, and he moans in pain from the sharp ache in his head and stomach.
Yeonjun wakes up enough to understand what is happening. He musters all his strength, uncertain if it makes any difference, and adds some weight to his feet, helping Soobin guide him to the bathroom.
Soobin can hear his own heartbeat pounding in his chest, shocked by what he had been oblivious to.
But he seemed sober. Why was he throwing up in his sleep?
"Oh god, Yeonjun," Soobin whines as Yeonjun slumps to the bathroom floor.
Soobin quickly turns on the shower, letting the steam fill the room. He then sits down on the floor in front of Yeonjun.Yeonjun hangs his head low between his legs, and Soobin can see his skin has a sickly greenish tinge.
"Come on, it's okay. Let it out," Soobin encourages, but Yeonjun doesn't vomit again.
What do I do what do I do.
Soobin leans forward, hugging Yeonjun under his armpits and doing his best to lift him up, dragging him into the bathtub.
Soobin doesn't even think of removing his own clothes as he settles into the shower behind Yeonjun.
Yeonjun gasps as his body jolts from the rush of water on his face. Soobin sighs with relief, closing his eyes as his wet hair clings to his face.
