"Yeonjun!" Beomgyu gasps, Soobin stays frozen.
The blond quickly rushes over, hitting his leg against one of the tables, "Ow!" . Soobin peeks down at Yeonjun who is currently glaring at the floor.
"Are you okay? I walk in- and you're going down l'm yelling timbre." Beomgyu exclaims. He crouches to Yeonjun and helps him stand.
"Thanks- bye." Yeonjun mumbles. He gets up himself. Beomgyu stands.
He doesn't acknowledge Beomgyu or look back at Soobin. Yeonjun just curses under his breath as he quickly walks to the exit.
The door slams shut, the deafening sound elevates the sinking feeling in Soobin's chest.
"What happened? You guys look fucking spooked." Beomgyu laughs.
Soobin can't quite find his voice just yet so he just smiles at the other.
"-Anyways, I came to sit with ya." Beomgyu says cheerfully.
Soobin raises a brow.
"What? Something wrong?"
Beomgyu looks away and he shrugs. Soobin sighs. He places a warm hand on Beomgyu's shoulder.
"What's wrong, Gyu?"
Beomgyu turns to pull out a chair and plops down. Soobin hops back up on the table, doing his best to push away the memories of how it felt to have Yeonjun between his legs only moments ago.
"It's just- I don't understand Soobin. I try my best to be nice to these guys and they just... I don't know. I feel like no matter what I do I can't get people to stick around." Beomgyu sighs.
The gloom of the day seeping through the large windows illuminates Beomgyu's features. Soobin feels his chest contract at the somber atmosphere around his usually positive friend. But, deep down, Soobin knows Beomgyu is pained. He's broken in a way that Soobin pities him for.
"Like- I get it. People are busy. Like, for example, my parents are never around. And sure- they cancel on me. But that doesn't mean they don't love me, right?"
Soobin comes close to wrap his arm around the boy's slumped shoulders.
"You gotta stop asking people to love you when they don't know how to freaking love themselves, and focus on the good people in your life. Beomgyu, you can't keep doing this. Please. You end up hurting the people who do care about you." Soobin says softly, his hand rubbing circles on his friend's back.
"I can't- I just. I don't understand why they don't like me. Why some don't like me. I need to know why."
Soobin closes his eyes, nodding.
"I'm so sorry Beomgyu. You don't deserve that from anyone. "
Beomgyu nods his head and Soobin leans in to fully hug the boy. Soobin knows what Beomgyu needs. He's too afraid to make the first move but Soobin can see Beomgyu's sad puppy eyes.
Immediately, Beomgyu hugs back impossibly tight, it squeezes out a laugh from Soobin.
"You're the best Soob. I'm excited to get drunk this weekend with you!"
Soobin perks up at that. "I'm not drinking Beomgyu." He pulls away. He watches as the other smirks. "Why? You're afraid of what you might do?"
Yes.
"Beomgyu...."
The other laughs. "Fine! Fine. I'm sorry. Just tryna change the mood."
Soobin pats Beomgyu on the back.
