"Fuck- it's sunrise already?" Taehyun groans, shifting on the grassy floor. He looks over at Beomgyu who lays on his back besides him, head resting on Taehyun's extended arm.
Soobin and Yeonjun had checked out a couple hours ago, leaving Beomgyu and Taehyun to drink and hang out around the fireplace until it burned out.
Beomgyu squints up at the sky. He sees streaks of pink making its appearance.
"Yep!" Beomgyu laughs, tired. He closes his eyes again, "But, continue? That sounds really nice..."
Taehyun smiles. "Okay... so, yeah, I miss it. I'll take you with me when I visit the city. We'll try everything."
Beomgyu shifts, turning his body so he can face Taehyun.
"Promise? I'd really like that. A change of scenery. I'd hate to go by myself."
Taehyun laughs, "Being alone is fun though. It's important too."
Beomgyu just sighs, "I feel like I've been alone ever since I learned how to walk and talk. I don't want to be alone again. Even if it's good for me."
Taehyun looks at him then, Beomgyu's cheek squished against Taehyun's arm. "Well, being alone is better than being in the company of assholes."
"But you guys aren't assholes." Beomgyu whines then. Taehyun raises a brow, "But the people you hang out with? That aren't us..." he trails off; unsure if it's a boundary he can cross but Beomgyu doesn't look defensive. His eyes look down.
It's silent for a moment. Taehyun analyzes as the sky slowly changes.
"I'm a little anxious... generally. But, now. Even more." Beomgyu speaks up. Voice soft.
Taehyun looks over at him. "Why?"
"I feel like I'm playing two teams. I'm trying to be better about being a good, reliable friend of Soobin's but- there's something wrong with me. And I- I don't want to lose Soobin. I really don't."
Taehyun thinks for a moment, looking at Beomgyu's expression. It's a serious one that Taehyun hasn't seen before.
"Then why play both teams?"
The boy huffs.
"Soobin reminds me of a... mom. Okay, I know that sounds weird but he's just so caring and I really feel loved by him. Even when I screw him over, he's always supporting me. Encouraging me to be better. He's so special, Taehyun."
"What about San and the others?"
Beomgyu doesn't look at Taehyun. He just shrugs. Taehyun sighs.
"Beomgyu... you're a really fun, happy, and exciting person? You don't need validation from assholes. Your parents wouldn't want that either..."
Beomgyu's eyes look up at Taehyun's then. He offers Taehyun an appreciative smile.
"They wouldn't have cared, Tae."

Yeonjun couldn't sleep the entire night. Not after Soobin wept in his arms. He remembers Soobin calling his father, Yeonjun waiting outside the door before the night turned sorrowful.
