That's Mason (you'll meet him later) aww Matthew Noszka

It's been almost a week since the ambush with Alexander's job. Alexis didn't accept any jobs, she stayed quiet and she hasn't called any of her employers. Kaden was right, she had to stay quiet and off the radar.

At the moment, she'd have to focus on improving her fight and finding a way to get close to Aaron. During the week, she had devised a small plan for him. But it had to have full heart if she wanted it done.

"You shouldn't walk too much," Kaden warned Alexis as she prepared herself a meal.

"I shouldn't let you baby me like this," Alexis retorted.

"You were the one hurt like everywhere," Kaden rolled his eyes.

"I'm fine, the wounds are healing," Alexis expertly chopped the vegetables.

"The bruises and cuts, yes, but your bullet wounds aren't doing very well. You lost a lot of blood when I got to you, even more when I took the bullet out. Just be thankful I was able to find blood your type," Kaden said.

"Thank you," Alexis said in a sarcastic tone.

"I forgot to tell you, when I got your stuff from the penthouse, that Kale guy asked for you," Kaden said, exaggerating Kale's name.

"What'd you say?"

"That you were running off to the Bahamas with the love of your life," Kaden snickered.

"What did you really say?" Alexis couldn't help but smile at his foolishness.

"That you had something personal to attend to and would be gone for a week or so," Kaden replied, shrugging.

"I'll go back there tomorrow, I can walk a bit more properly now," Alexis noted. "So what do you have planned for me, today?"

"We're going shopping," Kaden smirked.

Alexis put the knife down for a moment then slowly walked away.

"Where are you going?" Kaden asked.

"Away from you. You're delusional. In no world would I go shopping," Alexis playfully said.

"Haha yes, you are. We're going shopping, and if you want your little plan to work, you'll behave," Kaden said with a roll of eyes.

"Let me get dressed," Alexis sighed. He was right, in a way.

Wearing something simple, Alexis and Kaden left for the mall. Alexis added a bit more concealer to her face to hide the bruises still evident. Besides, nothing can go wrong with being a normal girl for a day.

The ride was quiet. It would've been awkward if it weren't for the indie music blasting from the radio. Within the week, Kaden was able to get himself his own car.

"Here we are," Kaden said, pulling into a parking space.

Kaden helped Alexis out, even if her leg was healing, it still wasn't as perfect as before.

Entering the mall, a rush of pop music greeted them. People walked from each direction—laughing, smiling, fighting, and crying even. Children pulled their parents to their own direction, full of their own energy. It was freeing in a chaotic way.

"So, whereto?"  Alexis stuffed her hands in her pockets.

Kaden smirked in reply.

Three hours later, Alexis and Kaden were scavenging through piles of clothing. After visiting close to half the mall, they were nearing the end of their day. Kaden had Alexis buy bags of clothes: shirts, dresses, jackets, shoes—the entire package.
