Alexis woke up with a pounding headache. She had spent most of the night thinking about just how much the boys got to her, how she had become somewhat friends with them, how she had admittedly had fun on her date with Axel, and how while she didn't know why she always found herself putting her guard down around them. Alexis begrudgingly got out of bed, the weight of last night still on her shoulders. It was too early for school; still, Alexis got into the shower and got ready. She couldn't help but think about how she'd face Axel after what he said...what he did. With a sigh, she went to her kitchen to grab a bite before leaving.
"You're up later then usual," Kaden said as she got down. "Coffee?" He offered a cup, as he sipped on his own. He had been up for a while now, waiting for Alexis.
"I had a long night," Alexis simply replied taking the cup of coffee from him.
"About that," Kaden began.
"What were you doing there?" she abruptly asked.
He paused and for a moment, she saw Kaden's eye go dark, "Do you like him?"
"What?" she found Kaden's question uncalled for. Kaden was never the type to assume, he was always the type of person who dealt with facts.
"Do you feel anything for him? It's a simple question, Alexis," he called her Alexis, he was serious.
"No, I don't. I thought you were better than baseless allegations," she stared at his straight in the eyes.
"Baseless, really? Because let me get this straight, you brought him to your home; you let him take you out on a date; most of all, you let him kiss you," the last words tasted bitter in his mouth. Alexis paused, so he did see their kiss, she had been wondering if he made it home in time to see that.
She sighed. "I thought you'd get it by now. I need to get close to the guys. Axel's the only way to do that. Since he's the only one showing interest, I figured I'd use that to get to them. He's my way in," Alexis replied thoughtlessly, she needed to get Kaden off her back even if that meant making an excuse that she might have not believed herself.
Kaden didn't reply. He thought about what she had said, and after a short while, he smiled. "Alright, I'm sorry, I believe you. I was worried about you, and it didn't feel right sending you out on that date without backup. But from the looks of that kiss, you must be doing something right," he chuckled, buying her excuse.
Alexis only smiled in response but she was relived Kaden hadn't pushed the topic further. She needed more time to think. After saying a quick goodbye, Alexis was out and headed for school. One way or another, she'd have to face Axel.
The first thing Alexis noticed entering school was Aaron leaning against her locker. She raised a brow in suspicion.
"Have you been waiting for me?" She asked deadpanned.
He shrugged. "Maybe."
Alexis crossed her arms, waiting for a better answer. "I have to get to class." She said eyeing how he was in the way of her locker.
"Be my guest," he smoothly replied still not moving away. She was not amused. She gave him a bored look causing him to move.
"Have you seen Axel? I need to talk to him," she asked as she took out the stuff she needed from her locker.
"How was your date?" Aaron asked ignoring her question.
She shrugged, "fine."
"Fine?"
"It was fine; there's not much to say," she lied. She shut her locker and began walking to class, Aaron followed.
"You're hiding something," he stated.
