"Whom do you work for?" Kaden shoved Vincent toward the wall. Vincent grunted in pain-three broken ribs, a dislocated shoulder, and an open wound in his side.
"N-no one," he had to force the words out of his mouth, his body shivering in pain.
"I'm not going to ask again, whom do you work for?" Kaden pressed at his broken ribs making him grit through his teeth.
The two had been going at it for almost an hour. Kaden had done his job well by inflicting the most pain on Vincent. He wasn't an easy victim having fought accordingly but Kaden managed, nonetheless.
"No one," Vincent spat.
"Jackson. What about Jackson?" Kaden angrily said, beginning to get impatient.
"Who?" he raised a brow.
"Don't play with me." Kaden punched Vincent square in the face. His head jerked to the opposite side, blood drooling out of his mouth.
"What about him? You probably know more than I do, coming here instead of him."
"What did you tell him?"
"Just what he wanted."
Vincent was giving him only bits and pieces, nothing that could be of worth yet. Kaden had to find the right way to get information out of him; it was clear that Vincent was taking all the hits he threw his way.
"Then what do you know about Red Death?" Kaden held a blade at his throat. His glare could've sent anyone running.
"All I know is that you're the lad who's been helping her," he plastered a knowing smirk on his face despite the bruises and blood he was covered in.
"No, I'm not."
"After all I think you know I know, stop denying it."
"Because it's the truth. I could care less about her. She is a stepping-stone to who I really want-your boss. You have no idea how long I'd have to cozy up to her. I'm not helping her; I'm destroying her. And she doesn't even know it. By the time I get to her, she won't have a choice but to die. I need her dead, I'd be glad to do it." Kaden said without a trace of hesitation. He knew that Vincent was going to die either way so it did no harm to tell him so-he had no one to tell.
"Not from what I know..." Vincent chuckled trying his best not to show the stabbing pain he felt at his side. He was determined to hold on longer.
"Why are you looking into her?" He said with the most evident trace of irritation.
"Bad people are looking for her. They can't trust her."
"Your boss? Jackson's boss? Who?"
Vincent kept his mouth shut. Kaden, as a result, kneed him causing him to fall. He squeezed his eyes shut, pain striking him. Whether he knew it or not, blood was flooding his insides. It was starting though, doubt; maybe it was time to tell him.
"Say something!" Kaden slammed him hard against the wall.
Vincent exasperatedly sucked in; he was desperate for air. Darkness was coming closer. He knew he was loosing grip on his consciousness, slowly letting go of himself. He couldn't speak, all effort drained and pushed into taking his breaths.
It was late and it could've gone a lot better if Vincent had not resisted. Kaden was getting tired, only adding to his anger. He needed to know more, despite whatever Vincent had told him the past hour; he needed more.
"I don't know," Vincent almost whispered.
"You don't know who you work for?" Kaden practically screamed.
