"Hey! Alexis!" Axel rushed after Alexis followed by Steele and Declan.
"What's up?" Alexis said.
"We're leaving. You're coming with us," he replied.
"You mean ditching?" she stared at them in incredulity.
"Don't tell me you forgot." Alexis proceeded to raise her brows in question.
"She forgot," Declan exasperated as if he knew she would.
"It's Friday. Remember? We have somewhere to go and you're coming with us," Axel
said. "I would've thought Aaron had remind you."
"Well, he didn't. Besides, I'm not ditching. Where are you guys heading to anyway?"
"Yeah, you are, and that's a surprise so will you please just hurry. We need to leave before next period."
Alexis stood there in thought for a minute. As far as she knew, the guys were out to do something illegal, and she wasn't about to help them with that—in addition to all the illegal things she's done of course.
"Come on, we need to go. Aaron's waiting for us," Declan pressed.
"Fine," she said before following the guys rush towards the school parking lot.
Since third period was about to start, there was close to no one on the parking lot. Aaron was standing by the school's main entrance and as soon as they came out, he rolled his eyes.
"What took you guys so long?" Aaron led them near the back of the school, around the forests area.
"Where are we going?" Alexis asked growing impatient.
"Stop asking questions, just trust us, alright?"
Alexis followed the guys; they seemed to know exactly where they were heading. They didn't fully enter the forests, just used the trees for cover as they moved toward what seemed to be the direction of the main road. Once they reached the main road, they met a parked blue pickup truck.
"Get in," Declan said as he went for the driver's seat. Alexis figured it was his.
Alexis, Axel and Steele got into the back seat while Aaron took shotgun. As soon as they were ready, Declan drove.
"Again, where are we heading?" Alexis crossed her arms, leaning against the window.
"You'll know when we get there," Aaron replied.
"Music anyone?" Declan turned the radio on to
For a while, the five sat there in silence. Alexis couldn't help but wonder what she was doing. Here she was in a car with these four guys, and she couldn't stop herself from thinking about all that she had to do, all she was planning to do. It was odd.
"If you're worried, don't worry, it's going to be fine," Aaron said to Alexis thoughtlessly. He might've mistaken her being deep in thought as worry.
"I'm not worried," Alexis replied but the fact that Aaron said such a thing caused a hint of doubt in her.
"Of course you're not. You're only in a truck with four other guys whom you've only known for about a month who are also bringing you somewhere you have no idea of, and in addition, you are not only just a girl but are also unarmed. So, yeah, there is nothing to worry about," Axel said to her with a wink.
"By saying that, you're implying that you guys are out to get me—and not in the Biblical sense."
Axel shrugged, a cheeky grin on his face.
