At home, Dad and I wanted to watch a movie. I was looking for one when he got a call. It was Ms. Morrow. I was confused but continued to search for a movie.

"Who was that?" I ask, looking at the row of horror movies on Netflix.

"Alex! She was saying there's a mo-.... There was a parent skills challenge. I told her I couldn't because I already had work and stuff!" I looked confused when Shawn paused and changed up his sentence. What was the call actually was about? "What horror film, Del?" "I don't know yet?" Then Dad got another call. He started to say stuff. I didn't understand, "D, that was the hospital! They're running low on nurses, so I'm going to go in and help! I'll be home maybe tomorrow at 3 or 4 because I'm just going to continue my shift that starts when I leave, so I'll get extra hours! You're gonna be home alone, or do you wanna go to Ms. Morrow or Nick's moms?" "Nah, I'm good! Go be a nurse!" I laugh as he runs upstairs to get into his scrubs. Dad runs out the door telling me a quick "Bye" and "I love you, be safe!" Evan was at Nick's sleeping over with Koob and Ms. Morrow never really has time to herself, so I chose to stay home. I hear someone knock on the door thinking Dad forgot something, but he wouldn't knock if he did? I walked over to the door and opened it. It was Logan.

"Hey, Lilah! I was wondering if you wanted to hang out or something?" Logan asked. "Sure, you wanna come in?" I said. We ended up watching Young Guns. "Billy kinda looks like Bombay!" I said, looking curiously at the TV."Or does Bombay look like Billy?" Logan replies. He had his arm around me, and I had my head on his shoulder.

After we finished the movie it was 11:02 pm. "Delilah, we should probably talk about our date and what happened." Logan said. "What's there to talk about? We had fun, we hugged, we kissed, w-" Logan cut me off. "Exactly! We kissed! What does that mean? We're friends, but we kissed." "What do you want it to mean?" I asked, turning off the movie to change it. "I want us to be together." He said in a low tone. I didn't turn around to look at him and thought about everything. I gave into that weird feeling that night, and that weird feeling was love. "Logan. I-" I stopped talking, not knowing what to say. "Do you want us to be together?" He asked, sitting up next to me. I turn my head. "Yeah." I said with a small head nod. He cupped my face with his right hand and leaned in. So did I. We kissed again. I looked down, pushing my lips together. "You go to my house?" "Sure, let me go change first." "Okay!" I got up and went upstairs and changed quick. Then we went to his house. He showed me his room. It was cool! It was filled with Toronto Maple Leaves stuff and a guitar in the corner. "You wanna sleep over?" Logan asked. "Sure!" "Instead of you having to go back to your house to get pajamas, you can just wear something of mine." Logan said, going to his dresser. "Alright, cool." I walked over and sat on his bed and looked around his room. "Black or grey?" He asked. "Black. Always black." I said. "Why always?" "Cause I'm Batman." I joked. Logan laughed and handed me a black shirt and black pants. Logan grabbed my hand and stopped in his doorway, putting his hands on my shoulders. "The bathroom is over there by my dad's room." He points. "Okay, thanks." I walk to the bathroom to change. I folded my original clothes and carried them back to Logan's room and sat them on his dresser. "Wanna watch another movie?" He asked, sitting in bed. "Sure, why not? You pick this time!"

I woke up, and my hand and head were on Logan's chest.

"Good morning, baby!" I hear Logan say in a sleepy voice.

"Morning, love." I say, sitting up and stretching a little bit. We got up, ate breakfast, brushed our teeth, grabbed my hockey stuff from my house, and rode with Ms. Morrow, Evan, Nick, and Koob to the Ice Palace. Sofi's parents found out about everything. Being on the Don't Bothers, going to both practices, faking her mom's signature. She accidentally wore her Don't Bothers jersey in front of everyone. She made a deal with her parents that if the Don't Bothers mom's win in the mom's skills challenge, she'd become a Don't Bother. If the Duck mom's win, she stays a Duck. Now I understand why Shawn paused. It's because it was a challenge for moms! My mom died having me. She didn't get to the hospital in time and had me in the living room while on the phone with 911. The mom's skills challenge began.

After a while, we were 1 point down for the Duck moms.

"Let's hear it for these moms!" Coach T said into his microphone. I saw he had a small bandaid across his nose. I smiled to myself. "Next up, target shooting." Coach T continued. Lauren's mom got us tied up again 5-5. "Shooting for the Ducks, it's our reigning champion, Stephanie Reddick!" Coach T went on earning cheers from the stands. "Who'll be facing off against my old friend, Alex Morrow." Coach T said sarcastically, earning cheers from us in the stands.

"Come on, Alex!" I yelled. "Three shots. Highest speed on a single shot wins. Stephanie, you're up first." Coach T told her. 35 miles an hour. Next was Alex getting 26 miles an hour. Stephanie then got 37 miles an hour. Alex then gets only 23 miles an hour. Then Stephanie getting 40 miles an hour, a new personal record. It was Alex's final turn. She NEEDED to beat 40 miles if we wanted Sofi to join the team. She then shot and got 41 miles an hour! We went crazy cheering while Sofi came over and hugged us all. We finally had her on our team. Coach T then spoke up again after Clark showed him something. "Excuse me. Ladies and gentlemen, can I have your attention, please. Upon further review, Alex's skate crossed the line. Doesn't count. Duck moms win!" causing the ducks side to now start cheering and left us angry and confused. That meant Sofi wouldn't be on our team. We all went home. I told Shawn about the mom's skill challenge. He seemed fascinated and sympathetic. He probably felt bad that I didn't have a mom or someone who was like my mom to be in the challenge. But I did! Ms. Morrow! She's always been like a mom to me.
