I was woken up by the bright sunlight shining through my window.

"Morning sleepy head! Get up! You gotta go to school, and I gotta go to work!" My adoptive dad spoke as he walked away from my window and out my bedroom door, closing it as he left. I put the blanket over my head, not wanting to leave my bed, but I know I have to, or my adoptive dad is gonna come back and start singing "Bad Moon Rising" by CCR. He's not very good at singing. I think that's why he does that to get me out of bed?

I sighed and threw the blanket off of me, and walked over to my window to close the curtains. I rub my eyes and looked at my nightstand at the clock.

The clock read 7:16. I walked over to my dresser, and I grabbed my phone to check to see what the weather was like, so I made a good choice on what to wear today. I walked over to my dresser to pick my outfit.

I go with my Bon Jovi shirt that's grey, some semi-ripped jeans and high-tops that are 1 black sneaker and 1 red sneaker. I have 1 black pair and 1 red pair but I like to do this with them because I find it cool and fun! I take my hair out of its side loose ponytail and brush it.

After I brushed it, I did french braids. I grab my jean jacket from my closet, my backpack, and my phone. I go downstairs to the kitchen where I see my dad making breakfast.

"There you are! I thought I was gonna have to go up there and start singing!" My adoptive dad said as the toast pops up from the toaster. I call him dad, but when I talk about him to other people, I call him my adoptive dad. His real name is Shawn Eben. Eben being pronounced as Eh-Ben. Since I just introduced him, let me introduce myself!

I'm Delilah Axel Blaze Parker! I was born in New Jersey. My mom passed away having me. Her name was Nicole Socorro Parker. I dont know much about my dad. He was nowhere to be found when I was born. I was welcomed into a home in Minnesota by a man named Shawn Eben when I was 1 week old.

I'm friends with my neighbors Evan Morrow and Nick Ganz. They're cool! Evan plays hockey for the Mighty ducks! I always wanted to play hockey but didn't make the team because I was "too aggressive" but look at them! That's all they're about! Nick Ganz has a podcast with a girl named MJ. Nick and I became friends in 4th grade when I had no one to sit with at lunch.

I became friends with Evan in 6th grade when he saw my New Jersey Devils hockey Jersey I wore one day to school. Evan, Nick, and I have been a trio since! Evan lives across from me, and Nick lives next to Evan on the left. Well, from my house, it looks like the right. I don't know the woman who lives next to us but she seems nice. Shawn's a nurse at the hospital.

"Alright, Del! Breakfast is served!" Shawn says as he sits the food on the table.

"Yes!" I said, dragging out the "S" sound. "I work a from a 12 hour shift today so I won't be home till 8:30 tomorrow morning and I asked Ms. Morrow if you could stay over and she said you could so you'll be riding home with Evan today." Shawn said as he buttered his toast."Okay, when I'm done eating, I'll pack." "Alright!" I said, eating my breakfast. We talked about school and cool work stuff that happens to Shawn. I finished my breakfast and went upstairs to brush my teeth and pack my bag for the Morrow's.

After I finished doing that, I went back downstairs and out the door to dad's car. I opened the glove compartment and looked for a CD to play as Dad got into the car. I chose Motley Crue. "Motley Crue? I didn't know you still liked them?" "When did I stop!?" I asked offended."I just haven't heard you blasting their music in the afternoon on a Saturday!" "You've been working Saturday's." "Oh, yeah, never mind!" Dad and I start laughing as "Dr. Feelgood" started coming from the speakers.

I start playing air drums and singing my heart out while Shawn chimes in here and there because he's focused on driving.

"He'll tell you he's the king of these Barrio streets! Moving up to Shangri La! Came by his wealth as a matter of luck! Says he never broke no law!" I sang now playing air guitar.
