The horn blared loudly, waking me out of my half an hour of sleep. I got the courage to get up after a minute.

"You okay, Delilah? I was the first one up, but normally you are." Sofi asked, sitting on the side of her bed as I sat up and climbed down.

"Yeah. Yeah. Everything's fine," I yawned. "Everything's great." "You look tired. Did you sleep, okay?" "No, not really." "Hm." I grabbed my clothes and went to get dressed.

After I got dressed and put my dirty clothes away, I walked out of my room to get breakfast. I was wearing black sweatpants, a dark blue shirt, a grey jacket, with one black sneaker, and one white sneaker. My hair was down, and my hood was up. I couldn't put on a fake smile that day. I saw Jace leaving his room, and he came up to me.

"Hey Spider-Man! You alright?" "Yeah, I just didn't sleep well." "I feel you. I don't like being here." "Yeah." Jace and I walked to breakfast together. "You wanna sit with me?" Jace asked, turning his head down to look at me under my hood. "Sure." "Are you sure you're okay?" "Yeah, I'm fine." "I've learned that when a girl says she's fine, she's not fine." "I don't wanna talk about it." "Okay, when you are, I'm here." I nodded.

We walked into the cafeteria and grabbed our breakfast. I saw Maya look at me confused. I sat down with Jace, facing away from Maya and the team. Jace pulled my hood down and looked at me.

"Why'd you do that?" "I just wanted to see your face." What Jace said brought a small smile to my face. He smiled back. We ate and talked. Cole walked in. "There he is." Jace said as we watched

Cole walks over to Marni. "Bet he's gonna pick me tomorrow, and then it's just gonna be another summer of hell." I shrugged. "Maybe not? You kinda suck right now, so.. yeah." Jace laughed. "Yeah, true!"

Jace's POV:

I walked out my door and saw Delilah. She looked kinda sad. I walked over to her.

"Hey Spider-Man! You okay?"

"Yeah, I just didn't sleep well." "I feel you. I don't like being here." "Yeah." I wonder if this is about our conversation we had after the Coach Classic? "You wanna sit with me?" I asked, turning my head to look under her hood. I might start calling her Robin Hood! I call her Spider-Man cause her last name is Parker. "Sure." "Are you sure you're okay?" "Yeah, I'm fine." "I've learned that when a girl says she's fine, she's not fine." "I don't wanna talk about it right now." "Okay, when you are, I'm here." She nodded.

We sat down, and I pulled her hood off, and she looked at me. "Why'd you do that?" "I just wanted to see your face." I've tried to fight these feelings, but I can't.

I love Delilah. I love her brown eyes. I love her 1990s haircut. I love her love for hockey. I love her.

We talked and ate for a while, and then my dad walked in. "There he is." I said as we watched dad walk over to Marni. "Bet he's gonna pick me tomorrow, and then it's just gonna be another summer of hell." She shrugged. "Maybe not? You kinda suck right now, so.. yeah." I laughed. "Yeah, true!"

She's so cute. I learned she broke up with her boyfriend, so I actually might have a chance.

Delilah's POV:

"Alright, everyone, listen up!" Cole yelled from a table with a bingo thing filled with ping-pong balls in it. "So tomorrow night," he clapped his hands. "Is our annual draft." Everyone clapped, but Jace and I. "Yeah, so that's when the coaches pick their teams for tournament play. Now the player rankings are gonna lock at 8:00 AM. tomorrow morning, so push as hard as you can! Leave it all out there on the ice! Oh, it's a classy event, so dress it up, alright? Those clothes at your mommy packed ya, put those on, alright?" Everyone laughed. "Marni, what do you got?"
