8: Deja Vu

Logan was making Candy Pancakes to celebrate our win as we rewatched our game tape.

"Word got out about our team." Sofi told Evan who had just arrived. "Tebor and Havel wanna join!"

"What positions do you guys play?" Evan asked. They nodded. "Defense?" They nodded. "Offense?" They nodded. "Shortstop?" Evan asked, throwing in a baseball term. They also nodded. "Oh. They don't speak much english. They just moved from the Czech Republic." Sofi told me. "Yeah. I already got their perfect nickname. The Czech-mates." Nick said. I watched as Logan flipped the pancakes like it was nothing! He should be a puck handler!

The next day, I was with the team outside of the school building.

"I know everyone has bad hair days, I just never thought it would happen to me." Logan said.

"You'll get through this." Sofi told him. He showed us his hair.

"Oh my god, you look fine." I told him.

"I'm going to go throw this water bottle away." Evan said, holding up his gatorade bottle. "Appreciate the update." I said sarcastically.

"Recycle!" Koob said as Evan walked away. We continued to talk about our Hawks game when Evan came back over, still holding his bottle. "What's up?" I ask."Just the ducks giving me a hard time as usual!" We all look at Ruby and Trevor.

"I'm staring them down. Now they know I know!" Lauren says as we all stare down the 2 ducks.

"You guys wanna start something?" Trevor asks. Everyone says no. "Oh, you know I do!" I say about to run up on them. Everyone hold me back as the 2 ducks walk away.

"Delilah!"

"Hey!"

"Wow!" They all said, holding me back."We all know you want to start something." Evan says everyone slowly lets go of me. "Okay. But if you want, I can just go -" I say, trying to go the other way to the 2 ducks."No! No! It's okay!" Logan and Sam are holding me back now. They let go, and I calm down.

The following day, as a treat, Bombay got the old ducks to come meet and practice with us. Which was one of the coolest and best things I"ve ever done. I went to go get a puck that was near the ducks, and they all looked at me in curiosity.

"What's your name, kid?" Fulton Reed asks me,"Delilah Parker." I say then skating away. THE Fulton Reed asked me my name! But why?

Ducks POV:

The girl we all kept looking at skated over near us and grabbed a puck.

"What's your name, kid?" Fulton asked the girl.

"Delilah Parker." She said, skating away to her team with the puck.

"Doesn't she remind you of someone?" Adam asks the ducks

"Yeah!" Ken says. Bombay skates over

"You guys okay?" "Yeah it's just. That Delilah girl looks so familiar!" They all look at Delilah, who's playing 1 on 1 with a boy named Sam. "I know! She skates like Luis and has the attitude and looks of Dean, watch!" Bombay says, making the ducks watch Delilah play 1 on 1 with Sam. Sam tries to take the puck, but Delilah knocks him down aggressively and gets the puck past Koob fast, making Koob fall.

"She shoots like you, Fulton!" Averman says, looking at Fulton and then back to Delilah. Delilah takes off her helmet.

"Oh my god!" Guy says.

"She looks like-," Connie says.

"Dean!" They all say at once. "Did Portman have a kid?" Ken asks "Well he was older than us, but this girl is like... how old?" Connie asks. "12." Bombay spoke. "What was Dean doing in '07?" Guy asks."I don't know? We didn't talk from 06 to 09, so who knows! But that would've been the first thing he'd told me!" Fulton spoke.

Delilah's POV:

The team found out about Evan going to a ducks practice, and it was easy to tell they weren't ready to forgive him, that easy. Before the OG ducks left, Connie Moreau skated over to Logan and I.

"Hey, you two!" She said. "Delilah. Honey. Who's your parents?" Connie asked me. I was confused about why, but I told her.

"Well, I didn't know my dad, but my mom's name was Nicole Parker. Why?" I ask with my eyebrows scrunched."Just curious!" I smiled at Connie. She skated to the ducks, and they talked.

"Why did she ask about your parents?" Logan asked as we skated off the ice. I shrugged. "No idea."

Ducks POV:

Connie went over to Delilah and asked who her parents were.

"So?" Ken asked Connie impatiently.

"She doesn't know her dad, so that could be Dean, and she said her mom's name was Nicole Parker."

"Dean dated a girl named Nicole! Do you think that could be the same, Nicole?" Fulton said.

"When did they start dating?" Averman asked."Sometime in 04!" "Then that has to be the right Nicole!" They all stood their in silence for a moment.

"We're Aunts and Uncles." Adam spoke, making the ducks laugh and look around for Delilah, but she was gone. "You know her and that boy Logan remind me of You and I when we were younger!" Connie said to Guy."I thought that was just me!" Averman said."She reminds me of all of us!" Adam says "Well she is half mighty duck!" Ken said.
