"Okay, let's move on to a cycle, give and go. And then we'll do some corner to half wall drills. And then we'll just let it rise." Alex told us.

"I think the last one's for baking." I told her. "But, uh, pretty good." Evan continued.

"Evan Morrow!" I heard a voice yell, causing Evan to stop and making everyone fall. "Dad!" Evan yelled, skating over to him, as he quickly pulled Evan into a hug. I get up of the ice helping Logan up. I looked over in jealously at Evan and his dad. I never knew my biological father. Shawn's always been like my dad. After practice and everything, I went home and did my normal routine.

The next day at school, I was sitting at a table with Logan, Sam, and Nick eating our lunch while Nick was showing us Maya's new tiktok. Maya looks hot! Uh- I mean, what? Why'd I say that?

"Is that the one she did with me?" Lauren asked, overhearing us. "Oh. No, not with you." Nick told her, showing her the video. "Where's mine?" she asked. "Um.. I don't see it here." Nick told her. "Looks like your tiktok didn't make her feed." That's rude. "What wouldn't she post our tiktok?" Lauren asked, confused. "I think I know why. But I'm scared to say, for I am small and you have nunchucks." Nick says, making me almost laugh. Lauren went over to Maya and talked. I watched Maya in awe. I still didn't understand why I loved her the way I did.

After school It was our game VS. the Hawks. Not even a second into the game, Evan got in the box for cross checking, out of anger of his dad not showing up. We were losing 4-2. I got 2 goals in. When Evan was motivated to do his best, it really showed. I looked at the stands and saw his dad. We were now tied 4-4 with twenty seconds left after repeatedly scoring.

"All right, guys. We score, we win. So let's get out there and have fun and beat these guys!" Alex told everyone.

"Okay, so let's do the double helix and bring this home!" Evan told us.

"Not really feeling it." Maya said.

"Yeah, me neither." said Lauren. They've been angry with each other since lunch.

"Look, I don't know what's going on at school with your little clique fight. I've never been in a clique. Tried to start one once. Lot of nibbles, no bites. But you two are magic together here on the ice. Monday, you two can go back to being embarrassed to be seen together, but right now, Evan's dad is here, and my buddy needs this win. So, ladies, top of the helix." Nick said. I was also motivated, and the speech wasn't for me! We did the double helix, and Evan scored us the winning goal. 5-4 Our first win! When I went home, I told dad all about the game.

"Wish I could have been there! That's cool, kiddo!"

"You should've! It was AMAZING! I'm gonna go to bed now! G'night, dad!" "Night, kid!"

The next day at lunch, I was sitting in between Logan and Sam.

"Oh, look." Nick said, making us all look over to Lauren.

"Whoa. Guys, check out Lauren." Sam told us. Lauren was walking in wearing black ripped jeans and a Brandy Melville top. Something you would mostly see Maya wear. Then we turned to see Maya. Wearing an outfit, you would see Lauren wearing. She even wore a cape. She looked adorable! I smiled at her. Evan spoke.

"Big cookie on me. Who wants one?" he asked us.

"I'll take one."

"Me." most people replied. I saw Trevor walk to Evan and tell him something. I didn't care, though. Evan can handle his own...I hope. After school, I found a note on the kitchen counter that was from Dad. He's working late. He's been working a lot lately. He could use or should I say he needs a break!
