Short story time part 5

The Singer wakes up from his sleep, unconsciously wondering if they'll feel anxious, excited, or meh for the day. Luck number three apparently, feeling a bit low, but not low wnough to where they think it'll be a bad day. The Singer remembers the days when he'd wake every day ready to write his story, seeing himself as the protagonist of his own story who had indirect influence over everyone he knew, because he was just that guy. The hero, for lack of a better term. Now its not like that though. Life has shown itself to the Singer in full, and made him realize that he would be a minor, one scene character of the story if life was a book.....and he cane to accept that. One thing that wasn't lost to him was his enjoyment of life, despite the hardships that come do often lately.

Deciding enough was enough, the Singer cuts off the thought process and turns his mind to say thanks for another day to be awake. Finally getting out of bed, the Singer performs their morning routine: (1) sit on the toilet longer than they probably should, making them late for their responsibilities or just wasting the day away, (2) Brush their teeth and hair, followed up with self affirmation, such as "looking pretty good tiger" (3) get dressed.

With all that out of the way, it was time to head out to handle their responsibilities. The Singer walks out of their humble shack, taking a nice stroll along the river and letting their thoughts run wild. Their are some negatives to allowing that to happen, but there are positives as well. This morning, the Singer's thoughts focused on their lost friend. They know they'll one day return, but the worry never subsides. This thought leads to family ties, which makes the Singer form a mental note to check on their cousins on the way back home later. Maybe even call up their uncle and see how they're doing. Then, the Singer wonders when he'll have a family of their own, one to take care of and guide in this journey called life.
