The camp fire (part 5)
Some time has passed since the raven and the duck had their heated discussion. Now we find the spaceman sitting on a log looking at the fire roasting a marshmallow. 'Will I ever find some happiness?' he asked him self. 'Will I ever find someone that will love me back?' he sighed deeply. The alien sat down next to the spaceman and ate some flowers.
"Aw man, if you're gonna eat something at least try some marshmallows" the spaceman said to the alien handing him a marshmallow and a stick.
"Marshmallows, these are fun." the alien said putting the marshmallow on the stick and placing it over the fire.
"Oh so you do know about them?" replied the spaceman in a playful tone.
"Well its not my first campfire thats for sure." said the alien and added "What where you doing here all by yourself? Most of the creatures are heading to the dance party, wouldn't you like to come?"
The spaceman thought for a moment and said "Oh the usual, just thinking a bit about being and love. I don't really feel like going to the dance party, and I have to report back to HQ soon as well, so... But you go and have fun"
The alien's marshmallow caught fire and the spaceman noticed and said "Ah! Kosmic! Fire, your marshmallow caught fire!"
The alien quickly chomped the fiery marshmallow biting the stick off and eating it. As he did this his mouth and neck glowed red. The spaceman horrified turned away and confused by what just had happened started laughing.
"I guess I'll never understand you fully K" he said"That's alright" the alien said smiling with some bark stuck to his teeth. This caused the spaceman to laugh some more.
"Say, you told me you've lived a very long life before coming to this planet for a second time. Tell me, did you ever found yourself someone special?" said the spaceman.
"Someone special?" asked the alien.
"Yeah like a wife, or the equivalent to your species, I imagine that traveling the universe you've encountered many other species and you've noticed something like that. Right?" replied the space man.
"Ah, have I ever formed an eternal link?" the alien asked
"I guess so, if that's what you call it" the space man said
"No, not really." said the alien taking another marshmallow and putting it on the stick.
"Oh, but don't you ever feel lonely traveling the universe? I imagine there has to be other testers that feel the same, and wouldn't it be better and more efficient to work in pairs?" the space man asked confused.
"Well yes, I do feel lonely more often than not. And it is true that it would be convenient to have a someone to compliment my work. But you see, forming an eternal link isn't that simple." said the alien
"What do you mean?" asked the spaceman
"Well, as the expression is self explanatory, its an eternal link, its a really important decision." said the alien.
"Yeah, I get that, but in all this time you haven't fallen in love? No one has peaked your interest?" the spaceman asked with disbelief in his voice.
"Well in all this time I've met many testers that where interesting. But I've only tried exploring the possibility once on my own accord." said the alien.
"Only one time? You've gone for a girl only one time?" asked the space man shocked
"Yeah, but it didn't work out. But hey I learned something valuable." said the alien chomping on another burning marshmallow.
"Ok but how did it happened? How did you fell for her?" asked the spaceman
"Alrighty, you asked." Said the alien as he breathed some fire out. "It was long long ago... I was exploring a nebula that I had my sensors on for a while, I had collected enough star dust and materials to start up some new stars some thousand years before and I wanted to check on the stars to see what type of stars I was growing. But then I noticed the infrared radiation of another tester in the proximity. ..."
