Short story time part 3
The spaceman sleeps suspended in the cryo tank. The computer runs maintenance protocols to make sure everything is working properly. The computer detects an anomaly in the space mans vitals. This prompts the AI to activate an examination of the space man.
After a while, the AI determines that the spaceman's physical health is at peak condition and passes the information on to the computer. A red light activates indicating an error with the results. The computer and the AI now examine the spaceman again and determine that the cause isn't physiological. "Is it neurological?" the AI asks. They begin making a neurological examine and determine that everything is functioning normally.
"Systems are all nominal. Data collection has been evaluated. Patient seems to be in emotional distress and such is being reflected physically. We recommend system restart." says the AI as it proceeds to play a soft tune as the computer begins to shut down. The AI also shuts down and the cryo tank opens slowly. White smoke comes out like a water fall and the starlight enters the ship thru the window. The space man open his eyes and stretches.
He sighs as he looks at a screen selecting the food he will eat. It takes some time for the food to rehydrate so while he does that, the spaceman contacts the youngling and the alien. He exchanges some information with them and he then proceeds to pick up the food that is now ready for consumption. While he eats he notices the report from the AI and the computer. He sighs again but heads towards the control panel and turns on the auto pilot. What a weird creature.
