A short story
The space man looked at the sky getting dark. The wind blew and rain started to pour.
"Oh great... its going to be another storm" said the space man starting to pick his helmet and head inside with a sad expression.
"Oh! Great, its going to be another storm! Ah hahah!" said the alien with excitement putting on some water socks.
"How can you be so happy about another storm?" asked the Space man to the alien and added "Knowing with what happened in the last storm, I would never want to go through it again. I would prefer to be in a flowering field in a sunny day than in the gray stormy day."
The alien thought about it for a while and then he flopped in to the mud face first. The space man looked a bit confused when he saw the alien do this.
The alien rolled a bit and then pointed at the space man "Well, how are you going to enjoy a flowering field without rain?"
The space man laughed a bit and replied, "Simple I'll just water the plants when ever they need it."
"But what if you run out of water, what will you do then?" Asked the alien.
"Ill just search for more water on a river or underground" replied the space man.
"Ah thats smart, but where does the water from the river and the aquifers come from?" asked the alien
The space man thought for a moment and scratched his head. "Oh I get what you are saying. But I just mean I dont like bad storms, but I dont mind the rain sometimes."
"Yeah, you have a good point. Do you think the rain isn't so bad if it lets you see the flowers grow?" asked the Alien
"As I said, I dont mind it if its just rain" said the spaceman and added "But it gets tiering after a while."
"Ah yeah, thats true. Would you get tired of flowers after a long while if they where always the same?" asked the alien
"Maybe, but at least they are pretty." said the space man
"Would you consider them special if they always where there? If they never changed and stayed the same, would you wait for them excitedly each time after they are gone?" said the alien
"Hmm.. I didn't thought about it that way. But how can you enjoy a storm that causes you trouble?" asked the Space man
"Well once you go thru the first strong storm, even if you get hurt, you know what to expect on the next one, and you can prepare. But the best part in my opinion is what you can also expect after it... It usually brings change and it uncovers new beauty". said the alien looking at a worm
"Ah I see. But I dont like having to wait. And sometimes I dont like change" said the spaceman looking at a worm..
"Ah I get cha I used to think I did not like change. But I've found that Entropy is a beautiful thing. Because things decade and change even the most everlasting thing, nothing ever stays the same. So everything you see around you, it will never be the same as it was just now and today. Even if it's really slow, change is happening. I don't know if it all makes sense but look at those worms wiggle!" said the alien bursting out in laughter.
"Aaah yeah wiggle worms are the best" said the space man
"Yeah! You think the worm ever thinks about how Entropy gives us the opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest? How we can experience change even if its very slow and small but eventually it affects everything we sometime knew and makes it into something new that we can enjoy and appreciate other things that at first we didnt even noticed? Do you think it considers mud soup or it knows any good cookie recipes?" said the alien picking the worm up and putting it on a leaf.
"You're crazy, but in a good way" said the space man flopping in to the mud.
Then the alpaca and the youngling saw them both laying in the mud looking at the worm on the leaf...
"what in the world are they doing?" they asked them selfs
