I got home after a busy day of work and lied down on the couch after getting settled. Spencer was busy somewhere, so I just sat there and chilled for a little while. A few minutes passed and I was browsing the internet when I heard the doorknob turning.
"Good evening!" My boyfriend said as he opened the door and walked in the house. He closed the door behind him and sat down next to me.
"Hey. How was the outing, Spence?" I asked and gave him a kiss.
"It was good." He said with a smile. I laid him down in my lap and I ran my hands through his hair. I'm glad he finally got to hanging out with his teammates again, it was a big step in getting back onto NHL ice.
"You know, I'm so proud of you, dude." I said and gave him another kiss, then he sat up in my lap.
"Thanks, but it's really nothing special." Spencer shrugged. Nothing special!? Boy, you've been working on getting back together with the team for several months now. Seriously?
"It is special." I replied and hugged him tight. "Be proud of yourself—being with the Panthers means so much to you and I'm so glad you're doing all of this." I added.
"Yeah, it does mean a lot to me." He said. "But do you wanna know what means even more to me?" He asked, a big smile growing on his face.
"Yes, what is it?" I asked.
"It's you. You mean the world to me, Y/N." My boyfriend said and kissed me, our lips touched for several seconds and my face turned red. He rest his hands on my face and tilted my head, looking into my eyes. "Babe, I love you so much. 'You know that?"
"Of course I know!" I said and hugged him tight. "I love you too, Spence. And I'm so proud of you." I added.
"You are?" He asked as his face lit up.
"I sure am." I answered and kissed him again. That's my boy.
