It was a nice Monday afternoon and Sidney and I stopped at the animal shelter. He held my hand as I walked in and I fell in love with all the animals there. I looked around and I found the section for cats, then ran over there.
I jumped up and down with excitement when I saw two cats in a little cage. "Sid! Look! They're so cute!"
He looked at the two cats and sighed. "Babe, do we have to get both of them?"
I looked into his eyes and tugged at his shirt. "C'mon, dude! Iceburgh needs friends! She was so lonely when we were gone. Imagine that every day!"
"Fine. We can get both of them, Y/N." He said. "At least we're getting them a new home."
We adopted the cats and got back to the house a little later. Iceburgh was very curious and started to sniff the new cats, then I looked back at Sid. "What should we name them? One's a girl and one's a boy."
He pointed at the girl cat and smiled. "I shall name her Flower." Shifting his gaze, he pointed at the boy cat. "And I shall name him Geno."
After we set up the new cats' litter boxes, food and water dishes in the empty guest room, Sidney and I sat down on the couch together. We started cuddling and I pulled him in for a kiss. "Thank you, Sidney."
He blushed and hugged me tight, then we cuddled for a little longer. A few hours passed and it was now nighttime and I went to bed with a smile. My husband's arms and legs wrapped around me, and I felt myself relax some more. "I love you, Y/N." He said before we both drifted off to sleep.
I woke up the next morning and sighed. Another day of work. And of course he has practice all day again... I rubbed my eyes to see Sidney walking toward the door. He looked at me and waved goodbye. "I'll see you later, babe." He said in an urgent voice.
"See you later." I scoffed, rolling my eyes and watched him frown as he opened the door. I got out of bed and got dressed after he left, then I started getting ready for work. I loved the life we lived together, but I was tired of him barely having any time. Couldn't he have just had a normal job?
I was eating breakfast when Geno jumped up on the table and walked around. "I can tell you're already Sidney's favorite, Geno." I softly said and pulled out my phone to take a picture of him. After I took it, I sent it to Sidney and sighed. Hopefully this helps him.
A few hours later, I was mindlessly answering emails at work when I heard my phone buzzing. I opened my text messages and smiled. "I showed Malkin the image you sent me. He really likes it!" The message read. I put my phone back and went back to work in a better mood. I love him so much.
