The rays of sunshine woke me up and I rubbed my eyes to see Sasha, already awake. "Good morning, sunshine." He said with a smile on his face, running his hands through my hair. I brought him close to me and hugged him.
I wrapped my legs around him and smiled. "Sasha, I'm sorry about what happened Tuesday night." I softly said.
He turned around and smiled at me. "Don't be sorry, Y/N."
"But you lost that night!" I softly hissed. "Aren't you mad?"
"Yes, but not a lot when I'm with you." He said.
I wanted to stay in bed but it looked so nice outside. I jumped off the bed and stretched, then looked at Sasha with a smile. "Get out of bed, Sasha." He nodded and got out of bed, then we got dressed.
The two of us walked into the kitchen and I rummaged through the fridge, looking for something to make for breakfast. I got out a carton of eggs while he found some bagels, and then I found a pan to use for the eggs. I turned on the stove and he wrapped his arms around me while I cooked.
"Thank you, sunshine." He said and gave me a kiss on the cheek after I finished cooking. He grabbed a couple plates and put the eggs on them, then set the table for me.
I looked into his eyes and smiled as we ate breakfast together. I love Sasha—I sure do—but I'm jealous of him in a way. I thought he'd be really angry or sad after the loss last week, but surprisingly he's real quiet about it.
"Are you alright, Y/N?" Sasha asked with a concerned look after he finished his food. I finished eating as well and donned a blank look on my face.
"I'm fine." I said. "I just don't understand how you're not angry over the loss."
"Do you want me to be angry?" He asked, smiling. I shook my head and got out of the chair, starting to walk to the living room, and he followed me.
I walked to my bedroom and grabbed my sketchbook and art supplies before the two of us walked out to the patio. Sitting down on the bench, I blankly stared into the morning sky, looking for inspiration for my next drawing. While I rummaged through my supplies, Sasha looked through my sketchbook, amazed at my drawings.
He turned to a certain page and tapped me on the shoulder. "Y/N, I really like this one."
"Thanks, Sasha." I said as I smiled and hugged him. "But can you give it back to me please?" I asked and he gave me my sketchbook. I started to draw a little bit and he wrapped his arm around me.
"That looks good—now, can I try something?" Sasha asked and I nodded my head, handing him my supplies. He picked up a large marker and drew a few lines through my drawing.
"What was that for?!" I hissed with anger.
"You'll see, sunshine." He replied. "Think of these lines as losses." He added and I nodded my head again.
"I see you're angry, but these losses aren't something to be angry about forever." He said and got out a few more markers. "You can choose to beat yourself up over these losses, or you can build on them." He said as he drew some shapes on the page.
"Sasha, that looks nice." I said in a soft voice as he handed me my sketchbook and markers. I kept drawing and I finished the piece, then Sasha looked at me and smiled.
"Now, do you understand why I wasn't angry?" He asked and looked at my art.
"Yes I do." I said and gave him a kiss on the cheek. It was now noon and very hot out, so we walked inside.
I smiled and closed my eyes as he hugged me tight. "Sasha, I love you so much. Do you know that?" I asked.
"Yes, I know that, silly." He answered and I hugged him back. "I love you too, Y/N."
