I got out my suitcase and sighed. "Why did he choose Antarctica, out of all places?" I groaned to myself. I started packing when I heard some meowing in the distance. I rolled my eyes, then remembered another thing I had to do to prepare for the trip.
I finished packing and got out a sheet of paper. "Care instructions for dear cat, Iceburgh: 1. Give her food and water, 2. Scoop her poop, 3. Play with her, and 4. DO NOT PET HER BELLY!" I wrote.
I taped the paper to the counter and sat down with Iceburgh on my lap. "I'm so glad that cats don't have honeymoons—it's such a hassle." I said to her while petting her. She looked at the suitcase and meowed.
"Aw, I know you're sad that we're leaving. I know Sid would've wanted to bring you with us. But you can't come with us, unfortunately." I said to her. I kept petting her and then I heard a knock at the door.
"Who is it?" I walked up to the door and asked.
"It's me, Sid! Who do you think it was?" He said from the other side of the door. I could tell he was annoyed but I couldn't help but laugh at how silly he sounded.
Giggling, I opened the door and rolled my eyes. "Come in, dude."
Iceburgh ran down the hallway after Sidney crashed through the doorway and caught his breath. "I have bad news, Y/N."
I groaned and before I had the time to ask, he started talking at the speed of light. "Our flight got moved." He said, panting. "It was supposed to be tomorrow morning but now it's in only a few hours and I haven't finished packing yet but I really think we should leave now because I don't want us to be late to-"
"Calm down, dude." I said, hugging him and playfully slapping his face. "Snap out of it, we're gonna be fine!" I added. He shrugged, got his suitcase, and finished packing.
I finished getting ready and grabbed my suitcase, and so did Sid. Then he quickly grabbed my hand and we ran to the car, him locking the door on the way out of our house. I jumped in the car and he floored it.
We barely got to the airport in time and we boarded the plane a couple hours later. Sidney was showing me funny TikToks on his phone and we were giggling when we heard the flight attendant on the intercom.
"Thanks for flying Spirit Airlines, you losers." The intercom sounded. "Please buckle your seatbelts and listen to the safety warnings as follows:"
"Now hopefully flying Spirit won't make you become one." He whispered in my ear and I put my hand on my mouth, trying not to erupt into laughter.
"Sidney, you are one funny little dude!" I said, trying to get my silly husband to stop talking over the flight attendants.
"That's why I married you!" He chuckled, deeming my plan unsuccessful. We calmed down and slept through most of the flight. I woke up from the noise of the plane landing, and noticed that he was still asleep.
"Hey dude. We gonna be getting off the plane soon 'cause we landing right now." I tapped him on the shoulder and said. "So I'd advise you get your shit together, Sidney."
"Bro, stop, baby... I'm tired..." He mumbled, slowly sitting up. The plane finished landing and the intercom sounded again.
"Welcome back, losers. Welcome to Antarctica Intergalactic Airport. Luckily, we arrived in one piece." The intercom said. "Now please-"
"Intergalactic airport-" I said, stunned and starting to laugh before my love shut me up.
"Baby I spent 10% of my contract on this honeymoon, keep quiet and don't screw things up." He said and kissed me.
"Hey! Stop! Can the couple in Row 35 shut the hell up? Thanks." The intercom sounded. "Anyways, y'all can get your bags now and book it. We got flights to fly, here!"
Sidney opened the overhead compartment and got our suitcases. "Ugh, those flight attendants were so rude! I can't wait to get off this plane!"
"Like, seriously!" I pouted as we walked off the plane into the terminal. "Some people just don't know how to keep cool."
"Sounds a lot like a girl I know." He said and playfully slapped me.
"Nawrrr, dude, we gotta see those penguins, dudeee!" I said, sassily walking with my hand on my hip.
"Don't worry baby, you can see a penguin right here, it's me!" He said, biting his lip. "Now let's take a selfie." He said after he took his phone out of his pocket. We took the selfie and kept walking.
We spent an hour or so exploring the airport and its amenities until we left to our hotel. It was 4AM and we crashed on the couch to get a few extra minutes of sleep before our 6AM tour.
I woke up and got dressed. "Hey, Sid! Don't I look sexy in my 5 jackets I'm wearing at once?" I jokingly asked him, strutting my stuff in a thousand layers of clothes, a pair of skiing glasses, a winter hat, and a scarf.
"No, babe. You- you look like a damn ferret!" He yelled, laughing. I flicked my wrist and gave him a sassy look.
"Boy if you don't shut the-" I snapped at him, getting cut off by myself. "Oh, dude, it's 5:13!We should get going soon, you don't wanna miss out on the penguins, do you?" I asked him. He went and got dressed then we walked to the lobby of the hotel to get some breakfast.
"Babe, these MREs taste like ass!" He pouted.
I rolled my eyes and smirked at him. "Dude, how you know what ass tastes like?"
"Ugh!" He complained with a mouthful of disgusting Antarctica food. "It's just a saying, you uncultured swine."
"I know." I laughed. "I'm just messing with you, dude." He rolled his eyes and we snarfed down the rest of our breakfast and ran out the hotel, holding hands. I took out my phone and looked over the checklist, making sure we had everything.
"Tickets? Check. Clothes? Check. Shoes? Check. I think we have everything we need, Sid." I said as we held hands and kept walking. A penguin crossed our path and Sidney giggled.
"You know, when a penguin crosses your path..." He said with a wise expression on his face.
"...It brings good luck?" I finished his words. Sidney playfully nudged me and laughed.
"Yes, baby!" He said. We stopped laughing and stood together, hugging for a moment.
"You know, you're the best husband that I could ever have, Sidney." I said to him, making him smile.
"You know, you're the best wife thatI could ever have, Y/N." He said and we kissed for a second before we pulled our scarves back over our mouths
"And this is the best honeymoon that we could ever have!" We said in unison, holding hands again and running toward our destination.
"Catch up, babe!" Sidney shouted, already being far ahead of me. "You don't wanna be late, do you?" He playfully asked me. I ran and caught up to him and we soon made it the tour just in time.
"This is gonna be so fun!" I squealed with excitement. Sidney wrapped his arm around me and smiled.
"I know, baby." He said. He took his arm off of me and we stood behind the crowd of tourists.
"Thanks for taking me here for our honeymoon, Sid." I said to my husband and smiled.
"You're welcome, Y/N." He said. We caught up with the crowd and went on the tour, taking in the nice scenery—and the penguins, of course.
