We walk over to where a man in tuxedo stands, drinking what smells like wine. This is odd, because I was told we weren't intending to serve any alcoholic beverages.

''Ah, Luna!'' He exclaims when he catches sigh of us, strolling over. ''What a pleasure to meet you!'' The mysterious man scoops up my hand and kisses it, all in one fluid motion.

Another growl rumbles in Ryker's throat (he seems to be growling a lot lately), and then the man chuckles. ''She's yours, I know. But she is a beautiful young lady, is she not?''

A blush rises to my cheek. Normally, I don't blush very often, but I can't help myself-he's such a charmer, and rather handsome.

''Kim.'' I give him a small smile, extending my hand and introducing myself.

''Where are my manners? I'm Noah.''

For some reason, I get the feeling that he's lying, but I say nothing. My wolf seems to sense it as well, and I can tell she's suspicious of him. When we make eye contact while shaking hands, I narrow my eyes at him, to make it clear I know he's lying.

Instead of turning flustered or being caught off guard, he seems... pleased?''

''Pleased to meet you.'' I smile coolly.

''And I am also pleased to make your acquaintance.'' He replies. ''I just wanted to meet the young lady I'd heard so much about.''

With that, he leaves without a warning. How could he possibly have heard plenty about me? I arrived here today!

''Um.. alright?'' I raise my eyebrows, although he's long gone and can't hear me. ''That was a little strange.''

For the rest of the party, I meet other members of the pack, who's names I instantly forget. But my mind is preoccupied with thoughts of this ''Noah'' guy..what is it about him that sets me on edge, makes me aware? Why do I think he's lying? What ever the reason is, I can't get him off my mind. When the party ends, Ryker and Elison ask why I'd been so detached, so distracted.

I give them some stupid answer about missing my friends, which is partially true, I guess.

To be honest, I'd been to busy arguing since I'd arrived to miss anyone.

Ryker promises they can visit tomorrow, which makes me grin. They'll be here for the delivery of the peaches. Chuckling myself, I lock the door, slip under the covers. (Of my own room, with my own bed, and no Ryker) and fall asleep.
