~Ryker POV~
''This better be a lot easier if you just hand me the stupid keys!'' Brinley huffs, tucking a strand of her oddly colored hair behind her hair. I'd never seen anything like it. It was right in between blonde and brown, but it wasn't dirty blonde, I almost wanted to say it was more brown..
''RYKER!''
I snap out of that train of thought quickly. We had been arguing about who was going to drive my car for the last fifteen minutes. I absolutely refused to hand over the keys, and she was just as stubborn about refusing to get in the car.
''I am NOY giving you the keys!''
''YES, you ARE!''
''Give me one good reason why I should!'' How I'd hated when my parents had used those very same words against me as a child.
''You don't know where we're going, and I do.'' She smirks smugly. I groan aloud. It's insane, really, how vexing a five foot seven woman could be.
''You crash my car, or so help me, put one little dent or scratch in it and you're dead. Dead, you hear me?''
''Loud and clear, sir.'' She snickers, mock saluting me. I clench my jaw and sit down in the passenger seat, only refraining from slamming the door because one, I had only recently replaced the window that Kimbriella had shattered, and two, I love this car. She peels out of the drive way at faster speed than I had ever dared go with this car.
''Careful!'' I yelp, gripping the armrests. The girl is insane.
''Awh, is the big bad Alpha afraid?'' She coos, whipping around a turn. I flinch as we narrowly avoid a stop sign.
''You're going to break my car! Or get us pulled over by cops. '' Yes. I am afraid. She's going to wreak my car, my baby, and get us both killed or arrested.
''Lighten up, worrywart. We'll be fine.''
Famous last words, I think to myself. ''Okay, fine.'' I sigh, though it's not fine. ''Where are we going?''
''You're not going to like it..'' She warns, taking her eyes off the road to grin at me.
''Watch!'' I holler. She turns her attention back to the road, silent. I groan again. ''Tell me.''
''We're going to Keenan's house.''

~Kimbriella POV~
I gape at the realization. My true pack. My parents had led this pack. This was a great opportunity to learn more about them, the kind of people -or wolves, I suppose- that they had been. Finally, they all rise, taking their seats at the table. Decker sits to my right, Kaden to my right, indicating Beta status. Ryan is one down from Kaden. Hmm.. Perhaps he was the Delta? Every seat was full.
''This is only a fraction of the members of your pack.'' He grins. Don't quite understand why he's so excited about it. ''Uh, great.'' I offer a half smile.
''Kimbriella, it's so great to have you back.'' An older lady with a tanned, weathered face stands up, her wrinkles bunching as she smiles. ''It must've been hard, to deal with a stuck-up Alpha pup that you hated.''
Is that what Ryan told them? That they were rescuing me? I open to defend Ryker, to tell the truth, when Ryan interrupts.
''Yes, Kimbriella here was so distressed, she came to help for me.'' He nods at her, face sincere, and gives me a hard look with a clear message. You tell the truth, and we won't hesitate to carry out our initial threat. ''Isn't that right, Kim?''
''Um, yeah.'' I mutter.
''So, you see, Kim here has come back to lead us, that is, until her grand plan is put into action. ''
My grand plan? What on earth is he talking about. Each wolf has a smile on their face at the mention of it.
''My grand plan..?'' I whisper to him?
''Shut up, I'll explain later.'' He hisses out of the corner of his mouth. Decker smirks, and Kaden glances at me worriedly. I wonder about their parents, what they had been like to raise two sons that were such polar opposites. I make a mental note to ask one of them later, mayby both. While Decker possess the exterior toughness that makes it seem hard to approach him, Kaden is quieter, more mysterious, and more likely to keep things close. ''She will now give a short speech.''
A speech!?!? I swing my head to his direction, trying to convey how much I despise public speaking, not to mention the fact that I have nothing prepared. Every head turns, faces expectant. Ryan clenches his jaw, indicating serious repercussions if I rebel. Here goes nothing..
I clear my throat.

~Ryker POV~
''KEENAN?'' I roar. ''No, no, no, heck the no.''
''Heck to the yes.'' She mocks in a nasally tone.
''I don't want to see him ever again.'' I mutter, linking my arms firmly across my chest. She laughs heartily. ''What are you, five?'' With your pouty face and stance, sure looks like it. We will go to her parents next.''
''So they can chew me out for LOSING their only DAUGHTER?'' I moan.
''Yeah, mayby.'' She seems amused at the prospect. ''It's little funny.'' She spreads her hands, taking them of the wheel. ''Picture it. Big Bad Alpha gets scolded by mate's parents. Sounds like a good headline.''
''HANDS ON THE WHEEL!'' I yell. ''How the hell did you manage to get your license?'' I ask.
''License? Oh, you mean my driver's license?'' She laughs breezily. ''I don't have one.''
''WHAT?''
''I said: I DON'T HAVE ONE!''
''I HEARD YOU! WHY ARE YOU DRIVING THE CAR THEN!?''
She shrugs. ''You gave me the keys.''
''You BEGGED FOR THEM!''
She sniffs haughtily. ''I don't beg, and I did not beg, I argued. And you gave.''
''You-gah!'' I close my eyes, trying to remain calm.
''I'm afraid I have that effect on all the men. Makes them speechless.''
I crack open one eye. ''When we get out of this car, you are soo dead..''
''Try me.'' She smiles, a steely glint in her vibrant blue eyes.
