~Ryker POV~
It seemed like Brinley had some family problems to work out so I might be waiting a while. I close my eyes and leaning back, mayby take a quick nap. When my sensitive ears pick up the sound of yelling from inside. All of a sudden, the door flies open and Brinley runs out. I assume that my eyes deceive me when I see her crying, but as she runs right past my window I can see with perfect clarity the tear tracks streaking down her face. I open the door and begin to chase her.
''Brinley!'' I yell.
''Go away'' She yells, voice choked up.
''Just explain what happened!''
Wrong thing to say. Sides heaving, she runs even faster while crying even harder. Panting now, I huff in irritation, then feel bad. I'm concerned about finding Kimbriella when her friend is clearly hurting? Then again, I suck at comforting people. Kimbriella was fairly easy.
''Stop chasing me god dammit, you stupid mutt!''
Ouch. Even crying she loves insulting me. I'm gaining and gaining fast.
''Brinley, please stop!'' I grab her arm, finally catching up. It jerks her to a halt.
''Get off me.'' She sobs, puddling to a heap on the ground. Nervously, I glance around the unfamiliar streets. People are starting to stare. Quickly, I sling her over my shoulder and begin to carry her back to the car. ''Put me down!'' She screams, attracting more attention. ''Help! Help!''
I speed up, needing to get to the car. I set her down in the truck, before getting in myself. I peel out of the driveway and go about twice the speed limit down the road/ After about then minutes of furious driving, I calm down and begin to find my way back to the house.
''I really hate you, you know that?'' Brinley sniffles, no longer crying but with red, puffy eyes.
''I know, I know.'' I mumble.
~Kimbriella POV~
I stare at it, twisting and turning my hand so the sparkle catches the light. The shininess of the diamond is blinding on my finger. The gorgeous but simple silver band fits my finger perfectly. The door opens, and I yank the ring off, clutching it, hidden, in my palm. No sense wishing for thing that will never happen. I chide myself silently. It's Ryan.
''Get up and be down in five, we've got places to go.'' He says, then shuts the door and leaves again. Annoyed with his succinct instructions and bad-tempered tone, I get grouchily out of bed and go into the walk in closet. It takes some digging, but I find a pair of sweatpants capris and a nice, casual t-shirt. Leaving, the room, I head downstairs, stomach growling He pops out of nowhere and grabs my arm as I walk into the kitchen, scaring me.
''No time for breakfast, let's go.'' I stare at his hand and pluck it off.
''There's always time for breakfast.'' Seeing my determined expression, he only sighs. ''As you wish, Alpha.''

A bowl of cereal later, I'm less annoyed with everything. Not happy, but not grouchy.
''Okay, so where are we going?''
''To meet some people.'' Kaden and Decker appear out of an adjoining room.
''Ugh.'' I moan quietly.
''Not happy to see you either.'' Decker glares at me.
''Be civil.'' Ryan glares at us both. We glare at each other. Kaden rolls his eyes before motioning us to follow. They shift with no problem, tearing out of their clothes. However, I'm rather attached to these, as I don't think there's another pair of sweatpants capris in the whole closet.
''Turn around.''
Each wolf cocks their heads inquisitively. Decker and Kaden's wolves are just as identical as their human forms, their brown coats similar to their hair color. Ryan is menacing black with amber eyes that freak me out. ''Well? You heard me? Turn Around!''
Each wolf whimpers and turns around. Quickly stripping and rolling the clothes into a makeshift bundle. I shift. Snatching them up in my mouth, I bump into them to indicate we can start. Ryan takes the lead, Decker and Kaden flanking him on either side. For some reason, it bothers me that I'm not in the lead. Running more quickly, I snarl and shoulder Decker out of the way so I'm even with Ryan. Decker growls but backs off. Ryan lets out a creepy guttural noise that I swear is supposed to be a laugh, and gives me an approving look I hiss at him to let him know the only reason he has any semblance of control is because I don't know where we're going, and he looks away. I keep exactly equal pace, refusing to give up any ground to him. Finally, we arrive at a giant mansion, probably another pack house. Fabulous.
~Ryker POV~
I cut the engine, expecting Brinley to dash out. Instead, she just sits there, which makes me even more nervous. I can't predict what she's going to do anymore.
''let's go inside.'' I offer.
''No, they'll see me cry.''
''Oh, Honey.'' I murmur, extending my arms. I mentally facepalm myself for being so stupid, but she falls into them, sobbing once again. I can feel the wetness of her tears through my shirt. To be honest, I have not a clue as to where the 'honey' came from, or this stupid sensitive side to me. We sit there, her crying for a good 30 minutes, before she sits up.
''Ready to go inside?'' I ask carefully, astonished at the size of the wet spot on my shirt.
''No, I still look like I've been crying.'' She mutters, swiping at her eyes.
''Here, I've got a plan.''
