~Kimbriella POV~
I wake up not in a cell, as I had expected, or chained and shackled, but Instead a rather comfortable bed. As I come to my senses, I expect searing pain to flood into my jaw, but there's nothing.
Curiously, I look around to observe more of my surroundings. It's windowless-figures-and the walls are a dull tan color.
I get up carefully try the knob. To my astonishment, it's unlocked. My stomach rumbles, and I place a hand over the area in hopes of silencing it. Forget escaping; I need food, and some answers.
I wander aimlessly in hopes of finding a person or the kitchen, and though I'm no good at keeping track of the passage of time, I would approximate about 20 minutes pass during my search.
Leaning against the wall, I glance at the painting across from me, fairly certain that I had seen it five times already.
I slide down the wall to take a break when a voice gives me heart attack.
''Can I help you, Miss Canterbury? Or am I refer to you as Mrs. Aldaine? The way she says Aldaine makes me shiver, and I wrinkle my nose at the thought of being called Mrs. Aldaine.
''Mrs. Canterbury, and if you could lead me to the kitchen, it would be greatly appreciated. ''The formality confuses me- I thought I was a prisoner?
''As you wish. The master is waiting in the kitchen, I believe.''
''The master?'' The strange man, presumably a servant, bows his head.
''I'm afraid I've said to much. Come along.'' I let him guide me through the twist and turns of the many hallways. It's almost as confusing as the pack house. We reach the kitchen, and I enter with a bit of caution. Casually sitting on a chair is.. Noah?
''Noah?'' I voice my confusion.
''Luna!'' He uses the same greeting as when we first me, confirming my suspicions. ''And my real name is Ryan Homelock, but you can call me Ryan. Though of course, you already know all this.''
''I knew you were lying about who you were, but I didn't know your name. I have no clue who you are or how I'm supposed to know you.'' An expression of shock flits across his face.
''I simply assumed that's why you didn't reveal my deception.''
''I thought you might have a good motivation. Clearly this wasn't true -you goal was to scope out the area to plan your attack and kidnap me.'' Getting angry now, I launch myself into a fierce attack.
''You know, I'd love to come to your funeral when Ryker finds out your little hideout.'' I pretend to mull something over.
''Oh, what a shame. I'll probably have work that day, and business comes before pleasure.'' To my annoyance, he chuckles.
''I assure you my intentions are good. And I see you really are a feisty one, my scouts have informed me.''
''Why does everyone say that?''
''The reason I assumed -wrongly- that you were protecting me because you knew my identity..'' He takes a deep breath. Is he trying to kill me with suspense? ''Is because I was the former Beta of the Canterbury pack. Your pack.'' The room sways a bit, and I grasp the counter for support.
''Keep going.''
''Kimbriella, Ryker Aldaine killed your parents.''
The room dances again, twisting and turning in every which way, my vision is spinning. But I didn't faint. No, I thought bitterly, That would be to easy.
''Obviously you didn't call me here only to tell me this.''
He smiles.
''You are right, little Luna. I have a proposition for you. A proposal for revenge..''
