Child of the Dragon Chapter One

I came to in a cage with Midnight next to me. I looked around and sow only four metal walls and a metal door. I sat up every inch of me was num as I leaned up agents the wall I was next to. They took everything except my bracelet, necklace, and the bandanas everything eels was gone. “Midnight.” I said as he opened his eyes and looked up at me.
“Where are we? What happened?”
“I don’t know.” I trying to remember what happen the door opened and their stood two men their faces covered and they cared sticks with ropes loops at the end. They grabbed Midnight and dragged him out to a wetting smaller cage, which he was not pleased with this and fought them with all he can as they stuck him in. I leaped up to try to escape but got coot by the neck by a tall man all in black his face was hidden behind a ski mask. I could see his mouth as he hissed at me showing me his sharp fangs. He held me up off the floor about four feet. I tried to get loose but couldn’t he was holding me tit. “Put her in the circle.” Said a male’s voice not from where I was being held.
I started to black out with lack of air. I did not have my wand and did not wont to try an unfocused spell it could tear us all apart. I was dropped hard to the floor and I felt everything close in around me. When I was able to breath I looked around. I sow Midnight in a cage by a table with different books and a large caldron that I recognized from several nights ago with the two men who tried to kill Nicolas. I looked to my left and I sow a short three-foot tall dark skin man warring all black. His hair was black and breaded back. He held a large brown book in his small hands as he looked down at me.
“Good the power is in place now onto the ingrained.” I watched him turn around and that is when I sow Destin tied by his hands to the ceiling like me he was striped of everything. The little man put the book down on a stand on the table.
“Let us go!” I stood up. He turned to me holding a short brown wand at my through.
“You better behave young one or you will be in more pain then needed.” He snapped and turned on the burner under the pot.
“I hate being in a circle that I did not create. One I can’t get out. Two there power is stronger ageist me, and three I can’t do anything to stop them.” I thought as I reached up to the circle and felt its power rise up my arm. It was strong and wild. Even if I had my wand and I tried to break throw, it would shatter like glass sending sparks in every direction. I felt so useless that I sat back down on the ground. I looked over at Destin as he was out cold with broses all over his smooth body. “How do we get out of this?” I asked my self-forcing me to think but nothing came to mind that would not destroy us in the attempt. I watched as the man took a boil and a knife over to Destin
“What are you going to do? Levee him alone!” I yelled and hit the edge of the circle it sent serge of pain throw me as I hit the ground behind me.
The man turned to me “Don’t be a fool kid.” He turned back put the edge of the knife at Destin’s chest. “We need you to feel every minute of pain.” He started to chant as he did he cut into Destin. I felt this serge of pain raise throw me I screamed it heart every inch heart it was ten times the amount of pain that I felt with Nicolas. To make it even worse I could not get free I kept trashing ageist the wall of the circle, which caused more pain. My body could not take any more and blacked out.
I opened my eyed to a lot of yelling and screaming. I sow Destin still hanging from the ceiling and I could not move the circle was still going strong. I was num unable to move even if I tried I would not be able to. I lost all my strength and sow a pair of brown combat boots that came to stand in front of me. I looked up and sow Riken standing over me wand in hand his blue wolf came up to stand next to him.
“Will what do we have here?” he knelt down to get a closer view of me. “Will Kate what do you have to say?”
“Help Destin.” I squeaked out in a dry cracked voice. I heard a voice start to chant again and pain seized me.
“Relics her at once!” demanded Riken as he pointed he wand at the man.
“I can’t tell it done.” the man leafed. Pain ran throw me again. I wonted to run I wanted it all to……….
“STOP!” I yelled the pain stopped and the light in the room was more intense. I was finely able to stand on my own. 
I sow the circle like a wall of intertwine strands like a net around me. I watched the way it moved it was blowing in an unseen wind. It was woven like a blanket. I reached for a strain of the woven fabric and pulled a piece tours me. There was a pop and the circle vanished. I sow Riken and the other man staring at me in shock and fear.
I ran over to Destin and sow that he was in two places at once I did not know what was going on. There was a glowing rope that tied the two of him together. I took hold of the strand and put some of my power into it pulling them back together. Destin woke up as I let go and lowered him to the ground. He looked at me with such hunger that his eyes glowed brightly at me.
“Kate.” His voce was harsh and dry. I reached up and touched him on the cheek and he started to shack and fell to his knees. He put his arms around my waist and drew me close to him. He put his head on my stomach and cried. “Let me take you.” As he started to lick my stomach “You power is so strong.” Destin sounded like a kid bagging for a cookie before dinner. I put my hand on his head and smiled at his warmth.
“I am yours.” I used to much power and everything went dark.

I awoke in bed staring up at two yellow eyes. I focused on the light and sow it was Midnight standing over me. “Hi.” I was still tired a week.
“You better get up, and get down stairs.” he got off me and stretched.
“Why?”
“Let’s just say. That if you don’t you will be in deep trouble.” I got up dressed and followed Midnight out of the room down the hall and to the stairs. I sow Nicolas sitting on the stairway lessoning to several voices downstairs he held Scarlet in his lap. I walked over to him and he looked up.
“You better hurry there getting up set.” I could tell that he was crying with his red eyes.
“I have no idea there is no way some one that young could break a circle.” Said a deep voice I looked and sow eight people I did not know. I could tell that four of them where protectors by their black staffs and red bloodstone crystals on top. They where standing at the corners.
I sow two older men in blue capes one had white hair, warring a blue t-shirt and black pence. The other man had bright red hair was warring a black shirt and black jeans. On ether side of them was a woman in a blue cape. The one closes to me had on a red dress and heals her white hair went down to her toes. The other woman had short black hair with bright green strips throw it she had on a tit t-shirt and short shorts. They sat on the couch as Riken sat before them in a chair from the table. He was warring a black t-shirt and blue shorts. Everyone else was in the kitchen. I walked up to the protector that was close to me.
The woman looked down at me with her dark blue eyes and short blond hair. “Good evening Kate Mc Millen.” She said and every one in the room turned to me.
“Come her child.” Said the women with black hair I walked over and knelt next to Riken.
“Sir Riken, would you please excuse us.” Said the man with white hair Riken stood bowed and left tours the Kitchen.
“Perhaps a little privacy is in order.” Said the white man
“Protectors if you would.” Said the red hair woman The Protectors taped their staffs to the floor and a white wall appeared around us. I could not move at all it was like I was glued in place.
“That’s better.” Said the woman with short black hair
“Tell us child do you remember what happened to you yesterday?” asked the man with white hair.
“I don’t know who you four are so why should I tell you anything?”
“She is brave for someone so young,” Said the man with black and green hair
“Answer the question and we will answers one of yours.” Said the white hair man
“Very will. I do not remember too much about what happened. Now who are you four?”
“We are what you would call the Society of Light child.” said the white hair man. My hart skipped beat and I could not breathe. The Society of Light is the most powerful people in the world they are the rulers of are world and could easily change existence with out a thought. They could kill me and I wound not even have felt it. I was scared very scared and alone as I knelt there at their feet.
“Tell us Kate what the Gardens told you?” asked the man with red hair.
I told them what they said to me.
“Really child those are very unusual gifts.” Said the women with white hair she stood and came over to kneel before me. I did not know what to expect I so scared I started to shake.
She reached down and put her hand under my chin and lifted me to my feet. “Look at me child of light.” I looked up at her smiling face I could see decades of helping people and learning so many spill that it made my head start to swim. “You will join child and keep the balance.” She said,
“But I am not as strong as you.” I said, she moved my hair out of my face and took and hold my locket in her hand that I kept around my neck.
“You will join us we understand that you are not as strong as we are but you will be shortly.” When she reelected my locket it changed. I took it in my hand and sow the once double pink roses changed to a pentagon with a white rose throw its center. I looked up at her and she walked to the wall as the others stood up. They each touched my check as they passed me. The wall fell and they started to leave. The younger woman stopped before me
“A protector will be joining your group.” She said,
“What about Nicolas?” I asked she smiled
“Have no fear child the boy haves a different future.” She said and left with the others as they each smiled at Nicolas who was still on the stairs. The door closed behind them.
“Kate.” Said Nicolas I walked over to him
“Yes.” I came up to him.
“They don’t like me.” He said looking at the door. I smiled at him
“Don’t worry about them. Oh! Happy birthday Nicolas.” he smiled at me.
“Thank you. But it was two days ago.”
“Oh.” I sat down next to him. “Tell me how are you doing at your Spell casting?” he looked down at Scarlet that was asleep on his lap. I put my hand on his shoulder
“Not so good.”
“You should go up stairs and get some sleep and I will help you tomorrow, Ok?” He looked up at me
“Really you mean it?”
“Yes really.” he smiled and ran up stairs with Scarlet in his arms. I stayed there for a moment.
Destin came up to me and I sow his eyes where glowing when he sow me. I sow Riken come up behind him as Destin sat down next to me. “What did they say?” asked Riken I looked up at him
“They said that I am one of them.” I stared down at my hands Destin put his arm around me and drew me close so I could lie on his lap. Darkness had hold of the room. Everyone was in bed but the three of us.
“You are one of them?” Riken seemed pissed like he was about to throw something,
“That is what they said and that a protector will be joining us.” I looking up at Riken he was in shock as he leaned agents the dark wood railing of the stairs.
“Will it seem that you passed me?” He was smiling at me. I looked away. “Relax I don’t think you will have to worry about doing to much from them they like to keep a low profile.”
“Perhaps you should get something to eat then return to bed,” Destin looked at me with a smile.
“Perhaps you’re right.” I sat up and watched as Destin stood and walked over to the kitchen to make me some ham and eggs.
“It douse not mater how strong you have gotten you still have a lot to learn.” Riken looked down at me.
“I know don’t worry I will try not to cause you any trouble.” he smiled
“I am not worried about that. I am worried that it could cause you problems. With others of are group.” I could tell he was talking about my father and brothers. I stared up at him and got up to walk over to the table. “Kate.” Riken stopped me before him I looked up at his eyes and he smiled at me.
“How do you feel?”
“I could be worse but thanks to you I’m still in one piece.” he put his hand on my shoulder
“I need you to be careful there is something that is going on that I don’t know much about it.”
“They’re trying to take the dragon out of Nicolas and put it in a statue.”
“What?”
“I heard them when they had Nicolas and Scarlet underground.”
“What did you see?” he asked as we walked over to the table where Destin put a plate down on the table and a glass of milk. I sat down Destin on one side and Riken on the other.
“They where trying to find a dragon statue by using Nicolas’s blood.” I explained. Riken looked out side for a minute then turned back to me.
“Did they find it?’
“They got a good pitcher of the dragon and of Red rock canyon. But I don’t think they know where it’s at.”
“Last night they used you two to try to find the dragon as will. When I entered the man was creating something to locate it a tracer of some kind.” Riken stood and grab a can from the fridge.
“What’s the point in finding this dragon statue?” I watched as he sat back down. Riken looked over at Destin
“Do you think she is ready?” Riken asked I looked over at Destin who smiled at me.
“She is more then ready.” Destin put his hand on my shoulder
“Ok. Lesson up Kate decades ago there was a war not any normal war mind you. This was a war of power the begging of the way we live today. There were two sides a white dragon that ruled the American continent and black dragon that ruled the ashen continent. The black dragon got greedy and wonted it all. As the war raged man became aware of the magic the two possessed and they wonted this power as will. Each dragon took on a man to train in their kind of power creating the Society of Light they trained others of their kind and so the world was born as we know it. But things got worse the dragon’s anger with each other grew and started to tear the world apart taking every sole with them. The Society of Light took it upon them selves to save the world. They created the Dragon Fang to keep the dragon’s temper in check.” Riken looked out to the yard.
“That is when things got bad. The dragon’s found each other and destroyed several cities in their attack. The Society of Light’s power was strong and they captured the two-dragon in slaving them in stone. From that day on the purpose of the Dragon Fang is to keep the souls of the dragons away from its body or they will be reborn bent on vengeance.” Said Destin my stomach turned at the thought of someone tarring the soul out of Nicolas, which would kill him. I pushed the plate away from me as tears ran down my face.
I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned to Riken “Don’t worry we will keep him safe.” Riken tried to ashier me. I looked up at the sealing.
“I hope so he is just a kid.”
“Kate he is a vessel for the dragon spirit and you must teach him to use that power to lead and to protect him and us.” Said Riken
I looked up at his face as he stared at me with a smile. “I’m going to bed.” I stood up
“Are you not hungry?” asked Destin I turned to them
“No I lost my appetite.” I walked up the stairs. I entered the room and sow Nicolas asleep on the couch I sat down on the bed and soon fell fast asleep.
