Child of the Dragon Chapter One

Destin will make it ok

I awoke to Destin lying next to me rubbing my neck it felt so calming, and soothing I just melted at his touch. "Where is Nicolas?" I turned to him.
"He is downstairs eating." I sow his eyes where glowing as he cut my neck filling me with such pace I gust melted in his arms. He continued for several hours as he dug into me deeper and deeper. I wonted him to tear me to shreds the deeper he went the more I got from him. I craved this it seemed a long time since this happened last and all I wanted was more. He held me agents him when he finished. "You are strong and I want more." He was leaning against me. He licked the mark on my shoulder as he started to open it again. I no longer had any thought or worry going throw me I was at pace. When he finished I took a short nap. I go up to take a shower when Destin grabbed me from behind. "What did you want to eat?"
"I don't care. I will be down shortly. I think I will take a shower."
"Ok holler if you need me to help you." he kissed my neck and left the room after getting dressed.
I was feeling great and took a shower. I got dressed and walked down stairs.

I sow Riken sitting on the couch reading a magazine. Thomas was sitting next to him watching news of the TV. Destin was pacing in the kitchen as he talked on the phone. Nicolas was out side in the pool with the wolves. Stephen and his apprentice Eric sat at the table playing cards, as Eric's cat was asleep in the living room. I walked down and went to the kitchen and made me a boil of cereal. I sat down at the table and watched Stephen and Eric play cards.
"Kate." I looked up at Eric
"Did you want to play?"
"No thank you." I continued to watch them play as I eat. Destin came over and sat down next to me.
"How do you feel?"
"Better thank you." I felt something was wrong and looked out side but Nicolas was fine that is when Riken came in.
"What's wrong?" him every one turned to him
"What do you mean?"
"Don't give me that I can tell that some thing is wrong." I snapped at him.
"There is a large Tenzel tarring up down town."
"Did you want us to go?"
"No I all ready have some one on the case."
"Very will." I finished eating.
I could not shake the feeling even a few hours later when I was showing Nicolas several spells that he should practice. Destin came out side and stood by me. "Are you all right?"
"No something is wrong. I don't want to stay here."
"So that is why Midnight is acting weird."
"Why do you say that?" I looked up at him
"Because he wants to leave he keeps whimpering at the door." I looked at Nicolas who finally got the gathering spill down after darning half the pool into the yard behind us.
"We should go and check it out." Destin stated as he put his arms around me,
I looked up at him "You sheer?" he smiled at me.
"Will I can't have Midnight tarring up my entry way now can I." I smiled up at him and jumped to hug him.
"Thank you." I gave him a hug. He tightens up at my touch.
"What's wrong?"
"Just ate too much." He was touching my cheek.
Destin called Tina a few hours latter to come pick us up. Riken was upset but kept quiet.

She was dressed in a tit black short shorts and a white top. When she came to the door Eric answered and could not believe his eyes as she walked in. Riken, Stephen, and Thomas where shocked at her as will. Nicolas was in ah. I did not see why.
"Destin are you ready?" her voice light and sweet.
"Yes, Kate are you ready to go?"
"Yes." I turned to Riken who was staring at Tina from the kitchen table as they eat lunch.
"Nicolas ready?"
"Yes."
"Where are you three going?" Riken looked at us from the table
"Out we need a change of scenery."
"Ok just be careful if you need us just touch the bracelet I gave you and we will be on are way."
"So you put a tracer on the bracelet?"
"Yes that is how we found you."
"Fine but be carful."
We left the house in Tina's 82' dark green jeep. I was glad that it was not to hot out side since the air did not work in her truck. We got on the freeway heading to down town.
"Where are we going?" Tina asked as she passed a downed car
"Down town there is something going on and I what to know what." she turned to me.
"Are you sheer?"
"Yes that is were the feeling is the strongest."
"You changed kid." I smiled at her
"A lot haves happened." she turned to Destin who liked his lips as he looked back at me.
"They do grow up fast." Tina smiled at Destin,
"You have no idea." Destin leaned back on the chair,
"So what level is she?" she asked as we drove down the I-15 south.
"You would not believe me."
"Try me." Destin sat back up and looked forwarded.
"She is a member of the Society of Light." Tina slammed on the brakes we all leached forward.
"What was that for?" Tina pointed in front of us and it was a parking lot no one was moving.
"What's going on?" Nicolas moved between the front seats
"I don't know?" I got out and took out my wand and Midnight joined me out side. "Will we will have to walk from here."
"Thank you Tina." Destin kissed her cheek and followed me out
"No problem." She smiled and waved us good bye.
The four of us walked up the freeway to downtown. The closer we got the worse it looked. There where smoking cars everywhere in the spaghetti boil where one freeway goes over the other looking like something big flatted it to a parking lot. There were semi tucks that where a burning pile of scrap metal.
"What in the world happened where we attacked?" asked Nicolas,
"Yes but not from man, look." I pointing to several spells that where being shot up in the air. "We have to help." we ran as fast as we could to where the spells where coming from. We hoped off the freeway down past the rail rode tracks and found are selves on South Grand Central parkway and north Main right next to the Nugget casino.
The closer we got the more destruction was around us. Everything took a hit tree's were burned, beddings, cars, but the street signs where wears they where pulled out and thrown a hundred yards or twisted like a pretzel. We followed the damage to come to a gruesome seen of destruction. There was several buildings that where now parking lots and other where deep holes in the street.
There were seven or eight men with brown staffs trying to control a large boor like beast but with no luck they kept getting thrown and attacked by either the two tusk on its head or the large spike on its tail. It was the size of a small building with black overlapping scales. Hit after hit of spells did not affect the beast.
"Why can't they take it down?" Nicolas looked up at me,
"Because they don't realize that there spells are not working." I looked around to see if there was something that could work to bring it down.
"What do we do?"
I looked around and noticed several fire hydrants that where broken and spraying water all over the street.
"I have an idea but I don't know how well it will work." we watched one of the men get hit hard as he flew over our heads to land in a garbage can.
"I will go see if he is all right." Destin ran off to where he landed.
I turned to Nicolas "Ok you remember that gathering spell I taught you?" he swallowed hard as the beast finally notices us.
"Yes, but Kate." He was pointing to the beast.
"Right now you gather the water around the beast and I will freeze the water around it. Keep on your toes and don't get killed. Now go." I yelled as the beast charged us.
We ran in two different directions around the monsters boor. I watched as Nicolas gathered the water I froze the water under the beast and it was having a hard time trying to get any type of traction making it fall over and over. I watched as Nicolas gathered the water around the beast. When we were done the beast was trapped in a giant ice ball the leader of the group came up to me. He was not very tall with short black hair and brown eyes he carried a tall brown staff with a blue crystal on top. He was warring a blue polo with the logo of "AM PM" on his shirt in a white circle with red letters and black pence. He looked at Nicolas and me when he came over out of breath.
"Thank you. But who are you. No one told us we would be getting back up?"
"My name is Kate and this is my apprentice Nicolas."
"Please to meet you. My name is Melvyn. So who sent you?"
"No one sent us we just thought you mite need some help." I watched the others of his group start the clean up process.
"Have you seen one of my men it seems? I can't find him," Melvyn looked around him he seemed to be counting his men in his head.
"Yes Destin haves him over there." I pointed to Destin helping the injured man walk. We walked over to them and sow the man waking up.
"You all right?" Destin came up to me afraid I got hurt.
"I'm fine." I looked at the man who was sitting on the curb.
"Are you all right?" Melvyn turned to his friend.
The man was tall with blond hair and blue eyes he was warring a black trench cote over a brown shirt and blue jeans. "Yes, just got the wind knock out of me. Dame where is it?" he jumped up and look around franticly around.
"What did you lose now Jason?" Melvyn shy as he looked around,
"My staff." The man shouted as he looked franticly.
"Is that it?" Nicolas pointing up to a tall tree at the edge of the street. We all looked up and sheer enough in the tallest branches was a long brown staff with a blue crystal on top.
"Let me." I pointed my wand at it. "Legere ." I said and the staff came racing tours me the others took a step back but it stopped right in front of me.
"Thank you. And you are?" he came up to me and took the staff
"My name is Kate, and this is Nicolas and Destin."
"Pleased to meat you. It's a good thing you three came by that beast was giving us trouble. My name is Jason"
"It's odd that noun of are spells worked on the beast." Said Melvyn I sow Midnight sniffing around.
"I did not think it was possible." Jason looked at the ball of ice
"What do you mean?" I watched him. He looked over at me.
"Will usually this type of beast is easy to take care of. Where it would only take two maybe three of us to deal with it but lately it is getting harder." Melvyn stood there looking at his friends.
"There not reacting to our magic as easily." Jason walked over to Melvyn,
"And to make it worse there causing more damage and it's harder to clean up." Melvyn did a spell and replaced the fire hydrants stopping the water from flooding the streets. I looked around and sow what he meant.
The lintier down town looks like a war zone. I watched them create a circle around the frozen beast and they said "Amicitiae nostrae memoriam spero sempiternam fore ." They chanted as the beast and the ice vanished.
"What did they say?" Nicolas turned to me
"I hope that the memory of our friendship will be everlasting."
"Is that a spell?" Nicolas looked confused,
"Yes, not all spells are force spells some are Directional or Creational." he just stared blankly at me. "Ok, force magic lets you do things for example to create ice, bring a staff to you, or gather water around a beast. Directional magic lets you move things like the beast back to where it came from or transport you from one place to another Creational magic."
"That is forbidden." Said Melvyn,
"Yes, creating life that can think is forbidden, but non-conches ness is not."
"What's the difference?" Nicolas was still confused
"Conches life can think for it own while the other is more like a puppet on strings."
"OH." He smiled at me.
"Douse that mean that beast had a type of Directional magic used on it to bring it here into the city?" asked Nicolas.
We turned to him "That could be but how would they get past the barer?" Jason questioned manly to himself,
"There in no way Riken would have known." Melvyn looked at Nicolas
"May be some one found a way around the barer." Jason turned to Melvyn,
"It could be possible. But not likely."
"We should go tell Riken what happened."
"We cant he is in hiding. Some one blew up his house." Melvyn explained
"Then how do we tell him?" Jason tilted his head to the side
"We send a note." Melvyn looked away from Jason as he looked at me
"How?" Jason seamed lost
"What's wrong with you man. Just give a note to Mariana she will give it to Riken's familiar. Crying out loud I know I tout you better." Melvyn turned to Jason then weaseled and a falcon soured to his out stretched arm. She was a large black eagle with blue eyes. Jason wrote a note and handed it to Mariana then she flew off.
"Kate how douse the bird know where Riken is?" Nicolas asked as he came up to me
"She doesn't but she douse know where his familiar is and so she can give the note to him."
"How is that possible?"
"Every familiar is connected to each other their bond is strong and can tell where they are."
"You mean like us?"
"Similar to that yes."
"KATE!" I turned and sow Midnight running tours us caring something in his mouth. He came up and put down a little black kitten at me feet. The poor thing was shaking and soaking wet it looked up at me with light blue eyes. I reached down and picked the cat up in my hands.
"What's wrong young one?"
"They came and took us." She cried in my arms
"Calm down and start from the begging."
"Not with them around." She said looking at Melvyn and Jason
"We better get going." I held the kitten in my shirt to keep her worm.
"Thanks again for your help." said Melvyn,
"No problem." We walked off back tours Destin's house.
Once we where away from the cleaners I looked down at the kitten "Know what wrong little one."
"There where these men they took me and three others away from are owners." She was shaking really hard.
"Who is your owner?"
"Cassandra."
"Cassandra?"
"Yes I'm her familiar Sasha."
"When was the last time you sow her?"
"Two days ago we where heading to the museum and we where attacked by several men with staffs. They made us all go to sleep and took us. I hope Cassandra is ok." She started to cry on my arms.
"What's wrong?" Nicolas came up to us,
"Some one is taking familiars." I looked down at Midnight.
"But why?" Nicolas looked down at the kitten
"I have no idea." I was looking down at Sasha.
"We should go check it out the museum." Said Destin,
"Museum what museum?" asked Nicolas
"You need to be careful you are not bound to a familiar and are at risk for getting heart. Sasha said that my friend Cassandra who she is bound to was knocked out and she was taken from her." I turned to the direction of the museum
"So we are going to the museum to find your friend." Destin came up to me
"I am. You need to return to Riken." I looked at Nicolas
"No I am your apprentice and I will stay with you. You can not make me leave your side." I pointed my wand at him and he just stared at me.
"I will not leave." He snapped his dragon was staring at me as will.
"Fine but stay close, and don't get hart." I lowered my wand.
