Chapter 18: Fear

During that afternoon...

Cooper Jackson is seen that afternoon in the crowded city, standing by some traffic lights wearing a bright red hoodie over his face, tight black jeans, and low-cut Converse shoes in black and white. He starts to walk when the light turns green. A male figure stood unobserved not far from him, watching him cross the street before following him.

Cooper enters his empty house and makes his way to his bedroom. When he opens the door, Henry sits at his desk, wearing a black jean jacket and knuckle gloves. Cooper casts him a worried glance. "Henry? What are you doing here?"

Unimpressed, Henry turns his gaze in Cooper's direction. "Well, Badger told me that you have been avoiding us. So, I came to see you." Cooper trembles and retreats from him as Henry gets to his feet. He then frowns, noticing Cooper stepping away from him. "Why?" Cooper gulps as he notices Henry becoming frustrated. "I don't think I want to do this anymore." Henry quickly raises an eyebrow.

"You don't want to do this anymore?" Cooper nods apprehensively. "The McGavins daughter and Bingo are my friends. It's my fault Bingo is in jail since I am the one who faked the recordings." Henry beams a sinister grin. He laughs while resting his hand on his shoulder. He then strikes Cooper in the nose, causing him to bleed and fall. Henry holds Cooper down by pinning him with one knee on his chest. His expression changes and turns angry. "When you put your life into a crew, it becomes family." Cooper starts to breathe tensely and is still silent and frightened.

"You don't get the choice to leave. You do what you are told. Even if it's to kill someone." Cooper frowns frustratedly. "I shouldn't have come to you in the first place. You are a bad man, Henry. You take orders from others to complete your vengeance against the evil in the world. But in the end, you're the evil one." Henry rolls his eyes apathetically.

"You think you're so tough." Henry beams and raises a fist in Cooper's direction. He makes a gun sound and poses as if he is going to shoot him. Henry chuckles, while Cooper blinks quickly in fear. Henry stands to his feet.

"Just remember why you agreed to join us in the first place," he says as he throws him a sachet of white powdered drugs from his jacket pocket. "I don't give a shit if they are your friends. They hate you! We could have left you in that cell to rot, but we didn't." Henry's head shakes. "You're lucky I didn't have a gun," he states as he exits his room, leaving Cooper behind. Fearful and alone, Cooper sits up and leans against his drawer.

That Afternoon...

Meanwhile, John enters an old, rustic, small building with purple flaps hanging off the entrance arch and the door is just beads. John takes off his brimmed hat. The room was covered in old furniture and a dusty chest. The room looked like it had not been cleaned for so long with the amount of dust balls hanging in every corner. He notices a bit of dust falls on his shoulders and he quickly wipes it off.
