I woke up the next morning feeling like crap and the minute I looked into the mirror next to my bed it was official that I looked like crap as well. I looked around my room at the bright yellow walls and bed spread that looked like a tree had puked leaves onto it. The only other bit of furniture in my room was my vanity table where all my junk was. I got up with a sigh, only to drop back into bed again, I wish I was as cheery as my room looked. I looked at all the photos, on the walls, of me and Neena doing stupid poses for the camera but nothing could get my mind of Will. Stupid annoyingly jerky, Will.
"Shanan you better not be in bed whining" Neena warned as she stormed into my room and took in my pyjama shorts and tank top that she had told me to change out of an hour ago. My hair was a total disarray and was thrown on top of my head in a messy bun, probably disgracing everyone in the world who wore their hair in buns.
"Neena just let me sook" I begged but she just gave me a condescending look
"Neena don't make me regret telling you about Will" I warned but truth be told I was kind of glad I told her, it was like lifting a huge burden of my chest but that didn't mean I was any less upset.
"Shan-" she began a scolding but thankfully was interrupted by a phone call, I was about to start yelling thank you's into her phone when I felt a sharp, stabbing pain in my chest. I screamed out as the pain became unbearable and Neena turned to me with worried eyes.
"You need to get him to stop because Shanan's feeling the pain as well" Neena said to whoever was on the other end of the phone and as if by magic all the pain suddenly disappeared
"What was that about?" I asked, referring to the phone call
"Get in the car and I'll explain on the way" she said as she rushed to get her car keys
"Where are we going?" I asked as she pushed me out the door
"To my brothers pack meeting" what?!
"What! why?" I practically screamed
"I can't tell you now because you'll start freaking out but you'll find out once we get to my brother" right, just keep me in the dark about why I was having random, and painful might I add, attacks for no apparent reason.
The ride to Neena's brother's pack meeting was a quite one. Usually Neena wasn't allowed to be at the pack meetings because she was Eric's- her brother- half sister, meaning she hadn't gotten the werewolf gene and it was dangerous for a human to be at a pack meeting because things could get pretty heated. It wasn't long before we finally arrived at Eric's pack meeting.
The meeting was always held in an abandoned shed because Eric thought it was cool, also because it offered privacy and had a huge area in the back where you could run freely in your wolf form. I walked into the shed wearily, afraid of what I might find out.
The shed was eerily quiet and if it weren't for my wolf sight I wouldn't even be able to see my own feet because of how dark it was. Neena had no trouble finding her way around considering how often she came here but I hadn't been here since the last time I had joined the pack. It was weird how Neena had an obsession of sneaking into the pack meetings just so she could defy her brother but at least that way I didn't have to attend them because she would always fill me in with what was going on.
We kept walking until we came upon a massive crowd, standing around something and watching the events unfold, intently
"Yield!" I heard Eric's booming voice command and then I heard him grunt as the other person hit him, whoever had dared to hit an Alpha was obviously an idiot. I heard Eric growl, meaning he was going in for an attack, and then I let out an ear-piercing scream when I felt the bones in my arm snap, the crowd quickly parted around me to reveal Eric's opponent standing in an offensive stance, getting ready to attack. Neither one of them turned to look at me, well at least not until I gasped out the name of Eric's opponent
"Will?" Will immediately turned and Eric took this as an opportunity to leap at Will and I was immediately overcome with the pain in my neck. I sank to the ground in pain. I guess this was one of the disadvantages of having a mate, you felt their pain. But why was Will fighting Alpha Eric?
