No matter how terrifying a sight the wolf in front of me looked there was no denying my pull towards him because the wolf at the doorway was none other than my mate. Will.
"Shanan!" A voice from behind Will cried, I turned my head towards Neena just in time to see her launch herself at me
"Thank gosh your alive" she gushed, looking slightly panicked
"Of course I'm alright as if you'd let anything happen to me" I said, matter-of-factly
"Damn straight" she said in agreement, I smiled at her and we both focused our eyes on Will who was currently eyeing Jared as though he was a sadistic rogue.

I refrained from flinching as Will let out a ferocious growl and stalked towards Jared eying him like prey. I barely even had time to register what was happening, as in the time span of seconds, Will lunged for Jared's throat. Without thinking my actions through I lunged in front of Jared protecting him from Will's sharp canines. I closed my eyes as Will's teeth neared my face.

I found myself hoping that he would stop but deep down I knew he was so consumed by his anger that he wouldn't be able to refrain from hurting me, not necessarily because he wanted to hurt me but because in this moment he was a predator.

I felt blood seeping down the front of my shirt and staining my cheeks and arms. There was so much blood, it was everywhere and yet surprisingly there was no pain and as I looked up I realised I felt no pain because I wasn't the one who was bleeding.
