Rejected.

When I walked back into the room I was too tired to argue with Will and yet I still made my way towards him with a hopeless sigh.
"Will you've made it pretty obvious that you feel nothing but hate towards me and despite this there has always been a part of me that loved you but Will I'm trying. I'm trying to get over you" when I had first arrived in the room the only expression on Will and Jared's face was pure and utter anger but now Jared looked hopeful and Will looked pained, as though he could no longer breath.

I turned away and left the two there making my way back outside when. I was stopped by a hand on my shoulder. I was not foolish enough to think that it was Will.
"Yes Jared." I asked rather impatiently as I turned around to look into his deep brown eyes.
"You can't leave" I looked at him oddly but none the less I let him continue "it's too dangerous and our Alpha will send the entire pack out to destroy you both, although your my only concern"
"But we mean no harm" I tried to reason, ignoring his last comment
"I know that but they don't know that and they won't stop to hear your reason. Anyone on our land uninvited is an enemy. I know that seems harsh but you have to understand that we are the most vulnerable pack and we will go to great lengths to ensure our safety" despite the fact that I was angry at him I knew I had to consult him before making my decision, so begrudging I turned to Will for an answer.

"As much as I despise spending more time with him" he nodded his head in Jared's direction before continuing "the only way for us to survive this is to stay with him" so it was a yes from Will but I was still unsure about one thing
"What makes you so sure that your pack won't attack you for housing 'the enemy' as you seem to refer to us as?" I asked him
"Well I am the brother of the Alpha" he answered with a smirk
"If that's the case then why aren't you Beta?" I asked needing to know about this stranger before I fully trusted him with the safety of myself and Will
"Well technically I was meant to be Alpha but my father gave it to my brother and my brother refused to give me any power because he was scared I would overthrow him, little did he realise that I don't need a title to overthrow him" he was exposing so much of himself and yet I still had questions
"So why don't you challenge your brother?" He gave me a look that made the answer seem obvious
"You want me to challenge my own brother for something as petty as a title" a low growl filled the room and I turned to Will automatically
"If you think being Alpha is just a petty title then you would have made the worst Alpha ever, being Alpha is a way of life, a responsibility that is not to be taken lightly." I thought of my father who had had great power in my old pack
"Being Alpha is power and power brings out the worst in humans. Sometimes it is better to give up power in order to regain our humanity".

"Nicely put" Jared commented with a smirk "oh and your room is down that hall" he pointed to a plain, narrow hallway that had three doors.
"Choose any room you want" I nodded
"Well I'm off to bed, night guys" and then I headed of. I was just at the door of my chosen room, which happened to be closest to the hall, when I heard Will's hushed voice.
"I can tell that you like her" he said
"And I can tell that she's your mate" Jared replied in an equally hushed voice
"I have this way of sussing people out and I can tell you genuinely care for Shanan which is why I am allowing you to have Shana, as of today the only person with the right to her heart, if she gives it to you, is you". There was silence and then Will came into the hallway and stopped in front of me.

"Shanan you claim that I'm a bad mate because I don't want to be hurt but did you ever consider the fact that you left me, you never believed that I could change for you"
"I gave you a chance to change Will and you lost that chance when you let me down"
"And yet you gave up on me so easily"
"I waited for you for four years!" I yelled in aggravation
"Some people wait ten times more than!" He yelled back
"So what you want me to have faith in you even though you practically handed me over to Jared in a silver plate, without a fight!" Suddenly he looked defeated and gave out a harsh breath of air as he ran his fingers through his hair
"No I want you to fight for me even though I practically handed you over to Jared"
"Will you can't expect me to keep fighting for you when you gave up on me years ago"
"Shanan many things changed after you left four years ago but the one thing that hasn't and, never will, change is the fact that I do not give up. Ever" and then he left me, all alone in the dark just as he had four years ago. It was like I was reliving the past, like my past was turning into my reality but would there be a different outcome this time?
