Ann-Renee comes over as Rene drops his head down into his hands. He's trying so hard to keep it together, not that he can really blame anyone else. It wasn't Denyse that yelled at Celine, it was him. "I think your kids are ready to go now." Anne-Renee says gently while patting Rene's shoulders. "Come on.""Yeah .... alright." Rene agrees. His ex-wife leads him out and they head back to his place to meet the kids. Just like everyyear, they have a campout in the living room, talking about the party, trying to power through thealcohol and dense food, preparing for the next day without any rush. At least some things stay the same, he thinks. The next morning he meets up with Anne-Renee and her husband for breakfast. The kids get everything cleaned up and join them. They have a good meal, but Anne-Renee pulls Rene aside before they leave. "Now we can talk." "I don't ..." "Don't pull the confused face with me. I know Celine loves you and I think you love her too." Rene's blood runs cold. Have they been so terrible at hiding their affection? "I saw the way you two looked at each other at the Christmas party that night, how you hated the distance you forced between you. I noticed her watching you dance last night, how hurtshe was when you were sharp with her. That's not because of nothing. There's no denying it, Rene."
