He still barely makes it the next day. Between traffic and a surprise issue, he almost misses the flight. When he gets on, he sees there's still an empty seat next to Celine. He slowly takes the spot, but has no idea what to say. All he knows is now he's locked in for the ride.

Celine

From the corner of her eyes, she sees Rene sit. Of course, she has been hoping he'd be here, but now that he is, she has no idea what to say. She still feels like she's in the wrong for something. She spent all night trying to narrow it down. Celine decided it was either not talking more with the band and instead just asking Rene to dance without trying to get to know his oldest friends. Maybe she should have talked to his ex-wives more, not danced with his sons, but she never discovered where she was making the event about her. She curls in a little more when Rene moves. She should have tried to cover the bags under her eyes and should have done something with her hair. During take off, their hands brush and Celine notices Rene looks like he's had a sleeplessnight as well, like he tossed and turned instead of getting rest. It's the longest flight Celine has ever been on. The tension, wanting to break the silence, not knowing what to say. Half words that get interrupted by a child, the pilot's announcements, or the flight staff. When they finally land, Celine swallows. "Coffee."
