He used to give her hell about packing like that and now she's normally organized, straight forward, only packing what she knows she'll need, but she's too excited and he loves seeing her emotions on clear display like this. All at once, she's running at him, a flurry of smiles and curly hair. She nearly tackles himand the recliner he's been sitting in. "Let's go!" Rene laughs and they all set out. Rene offers to drive and Therese and Celine's father eagerly agree, taking advantage of the chance to get some rest before the excitement is focused on them too. They sit in the back seat and Rene glances at the mirror a few times, waiting until both have their eyes closed to reach over and take Celine's hand. At first she's hesitant, jerking her head towards her parents in the least subtle way he's ever seen. He smirks and motions to the mirror. She looks at it, then gives him her hand. Their fingers lace and for this moment, all is right. Rene can't imagine a more perfect moment. He squeezes her hand and keeps his voice as low as the radio, so only she'll hear. "You have no idea how much I missed you." "I expect you to show me." She says before biting her lip to hide her smile. It never works, but Rene has no complaints on that front. At a red light, he looks over at her and she meets his eyes with a soft look that pierces Rene's heart. It's pure love, just like her warm smile – a fire on a cold night. His whole body warms to match the look and he smiles backbefore focusing on the road.
