Sapnap's thinking too much again.

He knows that thinking of domestic houses with large windows, a bed made for three, and screaming children running around is too soon. Thinking of a future at all is too soon; on the verge of impossible. But Quackity is beautiful when he sleeps, and fuck.. Sapnap is a fantasist.

He lies on his side, elbow under his head as he stares at his sleeping fiance. This is a habit he needs to stop, he knows, but he can't help it. He'll never get over this sight, he thinks, and it's a thought he's thunk before but that only shows how it remains true.

Nowhere is Quackity as peaceful as he is when he's sleeping. Even when the happiest Sapnap's ever seen him, stress lines have still lined his forehead, his eyes have still been reflecting all of the things he still has to do. But right now? He's relaxed. Snoring, but relaxed.

He sighs and turns to be facing the ceiling, half-heartedly running soothing fingers through the edge of Quackity's hair as he settles into the squishy pillows and soft sheets. His half-asleep companion makes a quiet hum of appreciation, and a tired smile makes its way onto Sapnap's face at the familiarity of it. He feels privileged to have this moment.

"Mornin'." His fiance mutters through his sleep after a long moment, and Sapnap's smile grows. "Morning, birdy."

Quackity shuffles closer with eyes still shut, pressing his face into Sapnap's neck and throwing an arm over his body so he's fully cuddled up next to the blaze. He hums non-committedly, as if he hadn't heard Sapnap at all, and it's not long before his breath evens out as he falls back asleep.

Sapnap presses a small kiss to his forehead, then wraps an arm around him and lets his eyes shut too with a smile. "Night, birdy."
