I walked beside Jacob and Edward back to the house. It felt that Jacob felt oddly comfortable. I guessed he was getting used to us.

There was movement in the brush and then a low whimper. It was Seth in his wolf form. He shrugged through the ferns and loped over to us.

"Hey, kid." Jake muttered.

"Get back to work, I'll spell you in a bit." Jake told him, playfully shoving Seth's shoulder. Seth shoved back then galloped into the trees.

"He has one of the purest, sincerest, kindest minds I've ever heard. You're lucky to have his thoughts to share." Edward murmured.

"I know that." Jake told him. It was true. Seth really was a sweet kid. You'd think he'd be angry at having to grow up so young, but he was so positive.

The three of us started towards the house then, and all of our heads snapped up when we heard someone sucking through a straw. Bella was awake.

Edward and I both darted into the house. Jacob was close behind us.

"Bella, love, I thought you were sleeping. I'm sorry, I wouldn't have left." Edward told her.

"Don't worry, Edward, we were keeping a close watch on her." Alex told him and Edward nodded.

Dad was sitting beside Alex, both watching Bella closely, as if waiting for something to happen. Alice was in the corner of the room and she smiled at something. I glanced back and saw Jacob walk through the door.

She must be happy since Jacob took her headaches away. That was a friendship I hadn't been expecting.

"Hey, Jake." Bella greeted with a smile.

"Hey, Bells."

Jacob stared at her for a moment and he seemed to be delibertaed something.

"Thank you." Edward whispered fervently and I turned to stare at him, along with everyone else but Bella.

Jacob had given his permission to save Bella.

"So, how was your day?" Bella asked Jacob.

"Great. Went for a drive. Hung out in the park."

"Sounds nice."

"Sure, sure."

Bella made a face then, one I recognized.

"Addy?" She asked and I chuckled. "Again?"

"I think I've drunk two gallons in the last hour ." Bella explained.

I went over to lift her up, but she stopped me. "Can I walk? My legs are so stiff."

I glanced over at Edward quickly.

"Are you sure?" He asked her.

"Addy will catch me if I trip over my feet. Which could happen pretty easily, since I can't see them." Bella joked and I grinned at her.

I set her carefully on her feet, keeping my hands on her shoulders. Bella stretched her arms out in front of her.

"That feels good. Ugh, but I'm huge." Bella complained.

"One more day." She said then, patting her stomach.

I stopped the wince from coming to my face as I saw Dad did as well. No matter how good the odds were, I was still worried for her. My mind couldn't keep thinking of the possibility where she could die.

"All righty then. Whoops-oh no!" Bella said as the cup she'd left on the sofa tumbled to one side, spilling out onto the pale fabric.

Automatically, I reached for it, and caught it, but Bella bent over as well, reaching for it.
