Author Note: I originally had a bigger idea for this and may expand on it later, but while I was thinking about it, I wanted to get it down on paper. It's a little silly but that's the beauty of fanfic, it can be anything you want it to be.

Phil was attempting to undo the knots in the ropes that bound him to the chair when he heard the unmistakable sound of heels walking in his general direction. He had been working on this case for weeks and while being kidnapped wasn't what he had in mind, it did get him a chance to see the behind the scenes of the operation. If he could just get a hand free, he could set of the tracker hidden in his clothes to alert the others of his whereabouts. He admitted to himself that he should have done it sooner, but they had gotten the jump on him this time. The footsteps were getting closer. Was he about to meet the head of the operation?

"Phillip?"

He stopped fiddling with the knots and tried to glance behind him. He had to be imagining things. There was no way his wife was here.

"Phillip, honey, we are going to be late for our dinner reservation. Let me help you with those knots."

He was shocked. How did she find him?? He felt a tug on the ropes as she attempted to set him free. "How did you-"

"So, the wife joins us!" They both looked up as someone else entered the room. A tall man in a black suit with several goons behind him. "I was so hoping it would be the famous SHIELD team that arrived. I've been looking forward to meeting them in person, but I suppose the wife of the Agent Coulson will do." Phil heard y/n sigh as she stepped around the chair and into view.

"I'm sure everyone is having fun with this little game, but I'm going to need you to let my husband go."

The man chuckled at her request, "Oh is that so?" He stepped closer as he spoke, "And what happens if I don't?"

Phil tried to intervene, "Honey, maybe provoking the bad guys while I'm tied to a chair isn't the best idea."

"You should listen to your husband. I'm not a man to be trifled with."

Y/N sighed again as she set down the small purse she was holding and began to take off the cropped leather jacket she was wearing. "How about a deal? If I can beat you and your little goons, we walk free and return to this situation at another time."

Phil was shocked once again. What was happening? "Uh.. honey?"

A full laugh erupted from the man as he looked over Y/N in her little red dress and her heels. "I accept."

She smiled a little and set her jacket across Phil's lap. "Do you mind holding this for me? It's new and I don't want to get it dusty."

"Y/N, what are you doing?"

"Don't worry sweetie, this will only take a moment."

Phil watched in horror as the goons surrounded her. He struggled against the ropes, but they wouldn't budge. He yelled as ones of the goons took a step toward Y/N and his horror turned to shock and amazement as his wife took out not one, not two, but three men who attempted to capture her. It all happened to quickly for him to process her movements. She was quick and sharp, dodging out of every attempt with ease. The leader of the group was a bit more of a challenge but even he didn't stand a chance. When it was all over, she brushed the dust from her dress and took a dainty step over one of the fallen men. "Now, as discussed I will be taking my husband and leaving. We can arrange for another playdate when we don't have plans." She moved behind the chair again and undid the knots that held Phil in place. He stood up, rubbing his wrists and looking at the mess around him. "Honey... how did you do that?" He looked over at her to find her calmly applying a fresh coat of lipstick as if nothing had happened.

"Just some tricks I learned from Nat." She dropped the lipstick in her purse and picked up her jacket from the chair. "We should be going. You know it took us ages to get a reservation and we rarely get a date night."

"I agree, but I have one question first. How did you find me?"

She smiled as she linked her arm in his and they walked toward a door that would lead them out of the building. "They may have outwitted you on one thing, but they forgot to turn your phone off. When you didn't return home, I got a little worried and called you. When you didn't answer, I checked your location. I already told the team what was happening." As if on cue the door opened, and they were surrounded by SHIELD agents.

Phil smiled and they stepped outside into the fading light of the sunset, "I think I may have to talk to the director about added a new member to the team."
