Tori forced me to give the family a day off from work so she could have a barbecue. I told her we didn't have time for a barbecue. She disagreed when she smacked me upside the head. Women.

The family gathered at the park under a pavilion and brought dishes to pass while Dad, Markus, Mason, and Larissa supplied the meat. As much as I hated taking a day off, it was good to see everyone together. It also gave the kids a chance to introduce their significant others.

Dad and Greg grilled while the family talked.

"It's surreal how much our family grew," Owen said.

"You're telling me. Now our kids are getting married. Hell, I remember when we got married."

Owen chuckled. "Don't remind me. Uncle Nixon stopped mid-ceremony, and Oliver took over."

"What did I take over?" Oliver grabbed a pop from the cooler.

"We were discussing my wedding."

"Oh, yeah. Fun times. Uncle Nixon lost his mind, giving me ample opportunity to take the reigns."

"Was that before or after your stint as a bookie?" Kayden asked.

"Do we need to bring up the past?"

"Why not? You wreaked havoc with your ideas," Jayden said.

"Excuse me, but that's Grayson. Who the hell steals a horse because it's lonely?"

Kayden, Jayden, and Oliver gave us knowing looks.

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, it wasn't one of our kids' brighter moments."

They laughed.

"Deacon, you goober! You wait until I catch your stupid ass!" Tori yelled.

We watched Tori chase Deacon while Deacon laughed.

"You need to catch me first!" Deacon yelled.

"Yo, Deacon! A guy is hitting on Gia!" Nate yelled.

Deacon stopped. "Where?"

Tori tackled Deacon to the ground and sat on his head.

Nate cupped his mouth. "Made you look, dumbass!"

We laughed.

Nash dragged Grayson passed us.

"Oh, come on, Nash!" Grayson yelled.

"That horse doesn't need another friend, you idiot!" Nash snapped.

"But the horse seemed lonely!"

"Not again, little brother!"

Owen and I glanced at each other and chuckled. It reminded us of when we were kids. Some things will never change.

My brothers and I stood around and talked when Kadia put ice down the back of my shirt. I spun on my heels and ran after her. Of course, Kadia sprinted away.

My brothers helped me chase her ass down, except Romeo.

He lagged before stopping. "Christ! I need to catch my breath."

"Want to bet?" Rafe asked.

Pat and I stopped chasing Kadia when we noticed Marty talking to some girls. Then the girls bolted toward Romeo.

"Shit," I said under my breath.

Romeo's eyes expanded as he ran from the girls. Well, limping was more like it. Pat, Rafe, and I chased after the girls to get them away from Romeo.
