When Delilah created her AIM account, she had no idea what to name herself. A lot of screen names were taken, so most people had to add extra letters or numbers to find one that was available.
Eventually, she decided on lilac712, since it was similar to her actual nickname.
While she was hanging out with her cat in her room, she received a message from someone named Babyspice666.
Babyspice666: hi lila
lilac712: who's this?
Babyspice666: it's Anna and Maya.
lilac712: oh okay. what's up? did you need something?
Babyspice666: i wanna message alex. do u have his sn?
lilac712: yeah, he gave it to me a few days ago. Hockey00, i think.
Babyspice666: thanx :)
A few minutes later, she received another notification. Who the hell names themselves Diper911? she thought to herself as she clicked on the message.
Diper911: Hi lila. it's Maya. alex logged off after Anna told him who she was :( so shady
lilac712: maybe he got kicked off? i dunno.
Diper911: i hope so. - Anna

"So what are you gonna wear tomorrow?" Heather asked over the phone. "I was thinking we could match."
"That would be so cute," Delilah grinned. "I'm probably gonna wear that one white dress with the pink flowers. Do you have anything similar?"
Heather paused. "Hold on, let me check my closet."
"Okay."
"Oh my God, I have a pink flower shirt that looks similar to your dress," Heather gushed. "It'll be perfect. Okay, I'll be right back. I'll call Connie to ask her too."
The line disconnected and Delilah sat back in her desk chair. Another notification noise popped up on her screen, and she groaned, thinking it was Maya or Anna messaging to bother her again.
Hockey00: sup
lilac712: yo. you need me for something?
Hockey00: ya. do u wanna hang out tmr after school? just the 2 of us?
lilac712: sure. where tho?
Hockey00: come 2 my house. we can watch a movie together or something.
lilac712: Ok. btw, heard Anna messaged u. what'd she say?
Hockey00: said she liked my screen name. we was chillin till she told me her name.
lilac712: LMAO. you srsly hate her that much?
Hockey00: ya. i dunno. guess i just hold a grudge since what she and UGIS said to brandt
lilac712: tru. they've been getting on my nerves lately 2.

Hockey00 and lilac712 have logged off.

"Ahh! Lila, you look so cute," Heather gushed, running to her friend to pull her into a hug. "I love matching with you and Connie; we should totally do this more often."
Alex shut his locker and grinned. "Lila looks the best out of the three of you, though. You sure you want her to be outshining you every day, Heather?"
"Shut up, Alex," Heather scoffed, crossing her arms. "We all know you're like, in love with her. Get over yourself."
He looked away and shoved his hands into his pockets. "Yeah, yeah, whatever. I was just sayin," he complained, walking away to his class.
"He's such an idiot," Connie sighed. "But it's true, Lila. He's so into you. You're like, the only person who hasn't noticed yet."
"Nah," Delilah laughed. "He's just joking. I'm pretty sure he just sees me as a close friend, that's all. So chill with the whole 'love' thing."
Heather giggled. "Whatever helps you sleep at night, I guess. We'll say we told you so when you guys start dating," she said, linking her arms with both Connie and Delilah. "Okay, come on. We don't want to be late."

Delilah walked up to the door of Alex's house and knocked hesitantly. Is this a date? Heather and Connie sort of got to my head. I don't think he likes me. Romantically, at least.
Alex opened the door with a wide grin on his face, with his hair looking fluffier and messier than usual. "Yo. Come on in."
"Dude, your house is sick!" she exclaimed, admiring the interior as she walked in. "I knew you were rich, but not this rich."
He chuckled and took her hand. "It's pretty cool, I guess. C'mon, I'll take you to my room."
Delilah smiled as he led her up the stairs and into his room, which was completely decked out in everything a thirteen year old boy loved; a mini fridge with drinks and snacks, his own TV, a computer, and posters of athletes she couldn't name. They sat down on his bed together, and Alex grabbed the remote to turn on a movie.
"Oh my God, I love this one," Delilah excitedly said as Alex nodded in agreement.
Throughout the film, they talked and laughed together as they shared different snacks. When the movie ended, they played games like Mario Kart together until the sun began to set.
"Do you have to leave?" he asked nervously, sounding almost disappointed.
She grinned. "Nope. I lied and said I was hanging out at one of my girl friend's houses, so my parents won't suspect anything if I ask if I can sleep over. If... you're okay with that?"
His face turned somewhat red and he looked down at his controller. "Yeah. It's cool."

The two of them stayed up late just talking about their lives and school.
"Is there anyone you like?" he asked, awkwardly tugging at his shirt.
She shook her head. "Not right now. But that could change," she jokingly said, sending him a playful wink.
"Shut up," he groaned. "But anyways, I thought you and Brandt or Dustin might've had something going on. 'Cause like, Brandt seems closer to you now, and you and Dustin always hang out during class and stuff. Like when you guys drew that god awful picture of UGIS and Anna."
"I'm just good friends with both of them, I guess," she shrugged. "I was there for Brandt after Maya said that fucked up stuff to him, and Dustin and I are just like, partners in crime or something. Nothing romantic or whatever. What about you?"
He hesitated. "Okay. Don't judge me, but Heather and I almost dated last year. But she was just too much, you know? I know she's your best friend and all now, but like, come on. Sometimes she makes me wanna rip my ears off."
"She's not that horrible," Delilah defensively said, crossing her arms. "Heather's super nice and pretty, you know. I could see you guys dating."
"Yeah, sure, whatever," he mumbled. "But there's someone else I'd rather be with."
She looked at him with a confused expression on her face. "Who? Connie?"
"Don't worry about it," Alex sighed, picking up the controller again. "One more round of Mario Kart? Rematch?"
Delila grinned and reached for her controller. "You're so on."
Eventually, the two of them became exhausted after playing games and talking for so long. Delilah yawned and closed her eyes, resting her head on Alex's shoulder.
"Good night, Lila," she heard him mutter, right before she fell asleep.
