This chapter is just going to be a filler, since most of the actual episode was just interactions with Maya and Anna. I'll write some short scenes with Delilah and her friends, and an ending scene when she receives a call from Anna (since I need the whole fight between Maya and Anna for context).

I just wanted to write a short second chapter for today before I went to bed. Hope you enjoy!

"Okay, okay. What about this? Kiss marry kill... Alex, Brandt, and Dustin," Connie snickered.

The three girls were having a sleepover at Lila's house, and they were all lying down on her bed while playing games like truth or dare and would you rather; like most middle schoolers do.

"Ew! You're sick, Connie," Heather cried, throwing a pillow at her friend's face.

Delilah laughed. "Honestly? Kiss Dustin, marry Alex, and kill Brandt. Nothing against my boy Brandt, but he's definitely not marriage material, and Dustin's fine as fuck."

"I'll bet Heather wants to kiss Brandt, though..." Connie giggled, nudging Heather's arm. "I see you staring at him during lunch."

"Oh my God. Shut up. I do not!" Heather whined. "But yeah... kiss Brandt, marry Dustin, and kill Alex. I don't want anything to do with that kid."

"Careful. That's Lila's boyfriend you're talking about," Connie grinned.

Delilah threw another pillow at Connie's face. "He's not my boyfriend," she groaned.

"Yeah, right," Heather giggled, crossing her arms. "Didn't you literally sleep over at his house? That's romantic as hell, if you ask me."

Connie nodded and smiled in agreement. "They're soulmates, I swear. We see the two of you walking down the halls together all the time. You literally look like you're in love."

"I'm going to bed if you two keep annoying me," Delilah huffed.

"Okay, okay, we'll drop it," Heather laughed. "Would you rather... meet the love of your life or win the lottery?"

"Easy. Win the lottery," Delilah grinned. "All of the clothes and makeup I'd ever want."

"Are you serious?" Connie protested. "People like you are the reason why romance is dead, Lila."

Heather snickered, leaning over to whisper in Connie's ear. "No, the reason why she chose the money is because she already found the love of her life; Alex."

"I can still hear you, you know," Delilah complained.

"We know," the two girls said, looking at each other and laughing again.

"Aw, Brandt," Connie said, picking up a pink dress from its hanger. "This would be perfect on you."

The friend group had gone to the mall together after school, and they were all constantly joking around with each other when they had found something especially ugly on one of the clothing racks.

"Ha, ha," he sarcastically responded, rolling his eyes.

Dustin snickered. "What's wrong, bro? You don't like wearing tutus? I thought that was your thing, you know. Since you're a little bitch."

"I'll beat your ass, dickhead," Brandt scoffed.

"Try me," Dustin smirked in return, turning around to run away from Brandt, who was now extremely pissed off.

Connie and Heather giggled as they turned to look at Delilah and Alex, who were talking to each other as they watched their friends run off. "We'll give you two some alone time," Heather said, linking her arm with Connie's.

The two girls ran off, and Delilah and Alex awkwardly looked at each other.

"Wanna get something to drink?" she suggested, breaking the uncomfortable silence. "I could go for a lychee slushie right now."

He shrugged but smiled. "Sure."

They walked around the mall, searching for a boba shop, but spotted a jewelry store that sold matching bracelets before they could find one. Delilah excitedly grabbed his hand and dragged him inside.

"Holy shit," she said, her eyes lighting up as she looked around the store. "These are so cute. We have to get a pair, dude."

"Isn't that a thing couples do?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

She rolled her eyes in return. "Friends have matching bracelets too, you know. Not everything has to be romantic. You sound like Heather and Connie right now."

He grinned as he glanced over to see a matching pair of bracelets that had a star charm attached to it. "These look cool."

"Those are so pretty," she exclaimed, picking them up. "We have to get them."

Alex couldn't help but smile to himself as he saw her excitedly rush over to the cashier, taking money out from her purse. She was so funny and sweet.

And beautiful.

Later that night, Delilah's phone rung. She rubbed her eyes open as she reached for it, barely awake.

"Hi," Anna quietly said. "Can I speak to Delilah, please?"

"It's me," Delilah replied. "Did you need something? Is everything okay?"

"No," Anna said, her voice strained. "My-my parents are getting divorced, and Maya's not picking up because she's mad at me, and everything feels like it's falling apart."

"Oh my God," Delilah softly said. "I'm so sorry, Anna. I wish I could be there for you and hug you right now. I'm so sorry that this is happening to you. Why is Maya angry?"

"I don't know. My parents were on a retreat, so I was staying with her for a couple days, but at the end, she just got really mad and... she just screamed at me to go back to my own family. I felt so bad."

"You didn't deserve that, 'Na... does she know what you're going through right now?"

"No, because she's not even answering my calls anymore. But... thank you for picking up, Lila. I appreciate it."

"Anytime, Anna. You should try calling Heather, too. Her parents are divorced; maybe she could help you get through it, since she's already experienced the pain."

"I'll... think about it. Thanks again, Lila. I'll see you tomorrow at school."

"Goodnight, 'Na."

That's the end of this chapter :) sorry it was so short; there really isn't much to write about this episode.

The next chapter is obviously going to be about the dance, which I'm so excited to write about. The story is probably going to be updated sometime tomorrow.
