Before the last period began, Delilah ran over to Maya and Anna in the hallways and flung her arms over their shoulders happily.

"Hi guys," she grinned. "How are my favorite people doing?"

"Oh, my God, Lila," Anna laughed, rolling her eyes. "You scared the shit out of me."

Looking at Maya and Anna, you wouldn't really be able to tell just how much they've changed. Maya was finally able to grow her hair out, just as she'd always wanted. Anna got her braces out (for the second time) and smiled more often. The two of them were even more beautiful and confident than they were in middle school.

Along with that, Maya and Sam were finally dating, which made Delilah extremely happy. When she'd first heard the news, she tackled the couple to the ground out of excitement and hugged them.

"What class do we have next?" Maya asked. "I can never get used to our schedules."

"AP Language," Delilah replied. "You know. The class we have with your boyfriend."

"Are you ever going to stop teasing me about Sam? We started dating like, four years ago," Maya groaned.

"Nope, never," Delilah laughed. "You two are my favorite couple ever. Speaking of couples... how're things with Shuji, Anna? Have you made any moves yet?"

"Ew," Maya whined, lightly punching Delilah's arm. "Don't talk about my brother like that in front of me."

"No," Anna said, shaking her head. "I tried talking to him during lunch yesterday, but before I could, I saw him walking up to some hot senior girl who was holding a skateboard."

Delilah paused and burst out laughing. "Wait. Are you talking about Kayla? I'm friends with her. Dude, she's literally gay."

"Oh, my God," Anna cried, smacking her forehead with her hand. "I'm so stupid. Maybe I'll try again next time we're over at Mai's house."

"Okay, okay, enough about my brother," Maya complained. "How're things with Alex, Lila?"

"Amazing," Delilah sheepishly grinned. "He's so sweet to me, as always. Plus he's an even better kisser now that we're in high school."

"You think boys do research on that stuff?" Anna questioned.

Maya pretended to gag and swatted Anna's shoulder. "Stop it. You're going to make me sick."

"Oh, my God. Do you know what Heather and Connie were talking about last night?" Delilah started to say. "Have you ever stopped to think that practically every boy you've ever known has jerked off before?"

(note: me and my friends have had this conversation before and it was just too funny for me to not add it in)

"Ew!" Anna cried, slapping a hand over her mouth. "You need to stop talking, Lila. I'm gonna throw up."

"I can feel my face turning green," Maya groaned. "Oh, my God. Even Gabe? He seems so innocent."

"Hopefully not him. I love Gabe," Delilah said, smiling at the thought of her friend. "I knew since the play we'd put on in middle school that he and Ian were going to start dating. Those cuties."

"Everybody's falling in love," Anna sighed. "When is it my turn?"

Maya laughed and linked her arm around Delilah and Anna's. "Definitely soon. Just... hopefully not with my brother."

"God, I love it when we have these silly little conversations," Delilah grinned. "I want to be teenagers together forever."

"You know that one quote?" Anna questioned as they walked into class together. "The one about girlhood or something?"

"We were girls together?" Maya asked.

"That's the one."

Before she left her house, Delilah put on one of Alex's hoodies over her dress, just in case she got cold. It was extremely oversized on her, but she didn't really mind.

When she'd arrived at his house, Alex's eyes lit up when he opened the door. He was wearing baggy jeans and a baseball jacket, with his hair as fluffy as it usually is.

"Holy shit," he mumbled, pulling her in for a hug. "You look so cute."

"I know," she jokingly responded. "You don't look too bad yourself."

"I mean it," he grinned as the two walked up the stairs and into his room together. "But you know I think you always look good."

"After all these years, you're still the sweetest boyfriend ever," Delilah laughed as they sat down on his bed together. "How'd I get so lucky?"

"You keep forgetting that I'm the lucky one," he chuckled, tucking her hair behind her ear as he leaned in to kiss her. "Sometimes I wake up and I can't even  believe that I'm yours."

Delilah's smile grew as she happily threw her arms over his shoulders, pushing him against the bedframe as she planted a thousand kisses on his face. "Shut up. You're so cute."

"And you're so beautiful," he smirked, placing his hands on her waist as he gently kissed her back.

"After that, I'd let you go further, but you know I don't want to mess up my makeup and hair before we go out to eat," she snickered.

Alex softly laughed as he pulled her in for yet another hug.

"You're worth waiting for, love."

The next day at school, Delilah spotted Brandt in the halls before class. Her eyes lit up and she ran straight to him, getting on her tippy toes to cover his eyes from behind him.

"Guess who?" she snickered.

"Wow, I don't know," Brandt replied sarcastically. "Who else has the urge to act like a little kid in her junior year of high school?"

Delilah scoffed, punching him in the arm. "Fuck off, dude. This is why Heather is always complaining about you."

"Complaining about me?" he said, almost seeming upset. "What am I doing wrong now?"

"Remember the time she asked you for help with her Spanish homework and you said you were busy playing video games with Dustin and Alex?" she replied, raising an eyebrow. "That doesn't come off too well with girls, Brandt."

"God, it's been four years and I still have no clue what I'm doing," he groaned. "Girls are complicated."

"True," Delilah nodded. "Or maybe you're just an idiot."

"Excuse you," he complained. "I'm not an idiot. I just suck at the whole relationship thing."

"Yeah," she agreed. "It's a miracle she's still with you."

"Do you think I should take her on a date today?" he asked.

"Definitely. Do something cute, like an arcade date," she suggested. "Actually, that doesn't really seem like something Heather would be into. Take her shopping. You know she loves Sephora."

Brandt nodded. "Okay, yeah. I will. Thanks, Lila. You're the best."

"I know that already," Delilah grinned, ruffling his arm before they walked off to class.
