Hi!! Sorry this chapter is coming out to you guys so late; I was out all day with friends. I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to write this chapter since it mostly revolved around Maya and Anna. Maybe I'll give Delilah a part in the play or make her stage crew? I dunno. I didn't have much context to what the play was really about, and the only characters that I saw acting in it were Maya and Gabe, so it'll be pretty difficult to give Delilah a part.

I'm typing this on my phone right now, so some things are definitely going to be messed up since I usually use my computer to write.

Either way, love you guys and I hope you enjoy this chapter, no matter how short it's gonna be.

"Oh, my God!" Ian excitedly shrieked as he pushed through the crowd of students to check the casting results of the play auditions. "I got it!"

Delilah smiled at him and sent him a thumbs up. "Congratulations, dude!"

"I think you got it," Maya said to Anna as the three girls approached the board. "I really do."

"Really?" Anna nervously asked.

"Oh, my God," Maya gasped as she pointed a finger to the top of the list, seeing her name. "That is not real."

"Holy shit, Maya," Delilah exclaimed. "That's the lead."

"That is incredible," Anna said as she looked back at the paper. "Is there another list, though?"

Maya's smile faded away. "Oh, my God... no. I'm sorry. It's so fucked up that you didn't get a role and I did."

"No, it's fine," Anna weakly smiled as she received a comforting hug from Delilah.

"No, it doesn't make sense," Maya whined. "You're literally the best actress in our school. Like, you're so much better than me. I don't wanna do it without you."

Delilah softly chuckled as she took Anna's hand. "Hey, it's fine. She'll be hanging out with me while you're off being a star. After all, I didn't even audition."

Before either of her friends could respond, Ian and Jess ran up to Maya, excitedly jumping up and down.

"Oh, my God, Maya," Jess grinned. "You're going to be so amazing."

As the theater kids adoringly swarmed Maya, Delilah frowned when she glanced over to see the depressed expression on Anna's face. She knew it must've been hard for Anna to see the spotlight on Maya, especially when Anna was always known as the friend who was amazing at performing.

"I'm not going in," Maya whined. "I'm not. I suck. I quit. I'm not going in. I can't do it."

"It's going to be fine, Maya," Delilah sighed. "You're going to be amazing, and Anna will be fine with me. Trust me."

Before Maya could respond, Mr. Rosso swung open the door to the drama classroom. "Maya? Are you coming in now? We're about to start. Ready whenever you are."

"Oh, hi," Anna nervously said. "I just wanted to say that I know you cast your play already, but I wanted to let you know that-"

"Uh huh," Mr. Rosso flatly responded, looking at his watch. "That's great. Anyways, Maya. Come on in. We're all waiting."

He closed the door, leaving the three girls alone again.

"Okay," Delilah smiled. "Good luck, Maya. Have an amazing time. Talk to you later."

"I love you guys," Maya cried before she entered the classroom.

"Love you," Anna mumbled.

"You'd look cute with this on," Delilah snickered as she held up an 'I LOVE MY GIRLFRIEND' shirt to show to Alex. "Very... fitting."

"I'd wear it," he grinned. "Only thing that's missing is a picture of your cute angry face on the back."

She laughed and put the shirt back onto its rack. "I love shopping with you."

"Hm. Is it because I give the best fashion advice?" he teasingly asked. "Or because you like showing me off as your boyfriend in public?"

"Please," she scoffed, crossing her arms. "Don't try and act like you haven't been gushing about me to every single one of your friends 24/7."

He rolled his eyes but smiled as he ruffled her hair. "Who wouldn't? I still can't believe how lucky I am to be your boyfriend."

"Okay, you need to stop being so sweet and cute in public," Delilah said, intertwining her fingers with his as they walked through the mall. "I'm trying to restrain myself from PDA-ing with you all the time."

"Does that mean I get to kiss you when we go back to my place?" he grinned.

She rolled her eyes, but still laughed.

"Deal."

"Hm," Delilah said. "I mean, I'm definitely not cut out to be a techie, 'Na. I could help with costume designing, though. And makeup."

"That'd be great," Anna sighed. "I feel like everyone's so incompetent, but I know I can rely on you. Thanks for helping out, Lila."

Delilah smiled as she pulled Anna into a hug. "Anytime. And hey... I'm proud of you for shining the spotlight on Maya. Usually, people might've gotten super weird and jealous about it. But you were a good sport. I really admire you for that, 'Na."

"Yeah..." Anna mumbled. "I'm trying really hard to be mature. I guess I'm just using my passion for my job as a techie instead of using it on stage."

"You're doing great," Delilah grinned. "Hey, who knows. Maybe you'll end up as a stage director or as an architect in the future instead of an actress."

Anna weakly smiled.

"I dunno. Maybe."

Ahh I'm sorry this chapter was so short; I promise I'll try to either write two chapters tomorrow or just write a really long chapter.
