Another Time, Another Place

Intruders

It was early in the morning, when they left Arcadia. Caspian, again riding with Lexa and Braxton riding with Octavia. It was an uneventful ride, until mid-afternoon when one of the scouts, they had sent ahead reported, that there was a group of strangers, riding through the area. Lexa raised her hand to stop everyone. "Are they coming this way?" Lexa asked worrying about her wife and child and her new nephew.

"No," the scout replied, "when I saw them last, they were past this crossroad."

"How many of them were there?" Lexa questioned.

"There were 10, Hedakwin." The scout said.

Lexa nodded. "Octavia, take Brandt, Ryder, Savannah, Viv, Quinn and Aria and get our wives and children home at any cost. Do not let anything happen to them."

"Yes, Hedakwin," Octavia said.

Lexa swung off her horse and walked to Clarke, "I love you both so much, please be safe, don't worry about me."

"I understand you have to do this, but you better come home. I wish I was going with you." Clarke said.

"You have the most important job my love, looking after our children," Lexa said, kissing Caspian's cheek and Clarke's belly. "I love you all."

"We love you too, come home to us." Clarke said, kissing her wife.

Lexa nodded and walked back to her horse and mounted it.

"Octavia," Lexa said, "Gallop all the way, Do not stop, do not turn around and make sure they get home safe, do you understand?"

"Yes, Hedakwin." Octavia said. "You heard, Hedakwin, full speed. We get them home safe, no matter what. Be on full alert. Move out."

Lexa watched her family leave, she wish she could go with them, to ensure they were safe, but she knew she had a job to do. She was just thankful, that Clarke and Caspian both wore their Armour.

"The rest of you let's go," Lexa galloped in the direction of the strangers, with the 20 warriors left.

Lexa and the rest of the warriors, made their way towards the strangers, they caught them about an hour later.

Lexa and the guards stopped in front of the intruders and drew their sword. "Who is in charge here?" Lexa said in her Heda voice.

"I am," A man, not much older than Lexa clean shaven and hair bussed close to his head.

"Who are you? And why are you on my land?"
Lexa demanded

"I am Alex Carun, Prince of Sou Mica, Brother to our King, I was not aware there was anyone living here. We are searching for our Queen, who has disappeared."

"Do you have reason to suspect she is in my territory?" Lexa questioned.

"Not particularly, to be honest we have no clue where she has gone. We are 4 days ride south of here, so it would seem unlikely, but we have covered our search area, to no avail." Alex said.

"Do you mean any harm to my people?" Lexa asked.

"No, we just wish to recover the queen." Alex said.

"Most of my people are warriors, I don't see why your queen would be here. But I can send 4 of my guards with you, to keep you safe, while you are in my territory and allow you to search, if you wish. Also if you can give me a description of your queen, I can distribute it throughout our lands and I will be informed if she turns up." Lexa said.

"That would be appreciated," Alex said pulling out a piece of paper, with a drawing of who, Lexa assumed was their queen, Lexa nodded to Darius, to get the paper. Darius dismounted his horse, beside Lexa, and collected the paper to return to Lexa.

"I will distribute this to the clans and let them know she is to be unharmed. I suggest you stay with my 4 warriors, they wear my Hedakwin's emblem, so other warriors will follow their orders. Keep your soldiers on their best behaviour and you will be safe. As I said before the majority of my people are warriors, so stay with my warriors and you will be safe" Lexa explained.

"Who am I thanking, for this assistance." Alex asked.

"I am Hedakwin Lexa Kom Trikru, I rule all the lands, 3 days ride south to the coast east and west and 4 days ride north.

"Thank you, Hedakwin. Sou Mica, will be forever in your debt." Alex replied.

"Boyd, Sam, Brent and Wolf you will ride with Sou Mica, until they leave our lands. You are instructed to keep everyone safe "

"Yes, Hedakwin," they say in perfect unison.

Lexa sheathed her swords and her warriors followed her lead.

"We will be leaving now, my warriors will keep you safe, and good luck, there is nothing I wouldn't do to get my Kwin back, if she went missing." Lexa said before riding away, with the remainder of her guards. They rode at a walk until they way out of sight of the Sou Mica crew, galloping the rest of the way home. Lexa desperate to get back to her wife and child, to make sure they were home safe.

Lexa made it to the stables in Polis and saw her wife's horse back in its stable, with relief she made her way to their quarters, as fast as she could.

She raced inside and saw Clarke and Caspian sitting on the bed, reading a story. As soon as Lexa and Clarke saw each other, they ran into each other's arms and kissed passionately.

"You are safe," Clarke breathed, against Lexa's lips, before kissing her again.

Raven cleared her throat, " As much as this is a lovely reunion, I feel I have to remind you we are here, before you two get naked."

Clarke glared at Raven, who was sitting on the couch with Octavia smirking, while Braxton naps on the other couch.

Lexa and Clarke walk to the bed, still hugging and pull Caspian into a hug too.

Eventually they relax and Clarke asked, "who were they, Lex and what did they want."

"It was a prince, from 4 days ride south. They were looking for their queen, who has disappeared. They mean us no harm and weren't aware that we were here."

"Disappeared or escaped?" Raven asked suspiciously. When everyone gave her a look. "What we all know how men, with power behave, especially towards women. I bet I'm not the only one who thought it."

"I am just glad you are all safe. I love Clarke and Caspian with all my heart and soul, but you, Octavia and Braxton are family, I love you 3 as well." Lexa said, "besides Clarke would be destroyed if she lost any of you. And I would do anything to keep her happy."

They all relaxed and had an early night, after their travel.
